Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life.

Our Lives are usually surrounded by inanimate objects which makes our lives more resourceful and easier. My story is about them and the role they play to make my live more functional.

I’ve been selected to IIFT (International Business) and ironically this is the first time I’ve been living away from my family. I’ve got a busy schedule and I don’t have much time to reminisce but when I do, I call my maa(mother) on her VODAPHONE-IDEA she has another sim card as well but this one offers better voice quality.

A week before going to B school, shopping frenzy started. I went for shopping, I was insisting on a cheaper suit but my dad insisted on going for either Louis Philippe or VAN HEUSEN, in spite of having money crunch my dad insisted on going for the best, maybe the dreams he had for me were more ambitious than the price of that suit.

Finally, the time came when after all the packing and dinner we all sat together, my family of four- mother, father, brother and me. They wished me all the success in life and to be mindful of their efforts and pain that has gone in making us (me and my brother) successful. We also talked about our old house which we had to sell to fund our education. I still remember fondly, the hoards of a truck coming late at night unloading ULTRATECH CEMENT, sand, crushed stone, and other construction material. It was a house we as a family build together, It was small yet lovable, it was indeed a home of four.

More than material objects Aditya Birla group has been a part of our personal lives. Each of their products tells a story or rather is a binding thread to that story.

How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far.

On the face of challenges, I never bog down, rather I take it as an opportunity to prove myself as being worthy for them.

One of the greatest challenges in my life that I fondly remember showed up in 2017. I wrote the UPSC Civil Services examination. It consists of three phases prelims, mains, interview. Having given the prelims, I was not confident of achieving the requisite marks required to qualify the next stage.

The result came up on the 41st day and to my shock, I cleared the initial stage. Now I was among the top 13K students invited across India for writing mains. Having lost all the hope and after that seeing hay of sunshine is an adventure in itself.

Now the major task that lies ahead is preparation for mains. I only had 70 odd days remaining. I ran to the mecca of Civil Services- Karol Bagh and got myself enrolled in various test series. The schedule was hectic, and the D day was approaching one day at a time.

I remembered it went on for weeks before I realized, I wasn’t talking to anyone, my family, friends, the schedule was hectic, and I was enjoying this spiritual process. I joined a library and made it my home, clocking 14 hours a day. Amid the preparation, I got the news of Grandpa’s death, I was very close to him, heartbroken and shattered I ran to the hospital couldn’t believe the moment, he was lying unconscious, there were no words of wisdom anymore nor were the stories of a naughty boy in which he portrayed me. Those were the most beautiful memory I had of my childhood.

Waiting for the storm to settle I realized I was not able to concentrate, and mains stood there knocking the door, harder every time just 15 days apart. My best friend got to know about this and consoled me and made me understand the gravity of the situation. Having received the necessary motivation, I buckled for the ultimate test of my life. I wrote the mains from October 28 to November 2. And indeed, I gave my best and was shortlisted for the interview process.

The whole experience was a life lesson and it taught me something very important, life would be difficult , situation won’t be easy but it should not stop someone from pursuing their dreams with all dedication because at some point of time someone has sacrificed something so that we can cherish the life of comfort, the best way to honor their contribution is to work hard for your dreams .
