Soon after graduation, I got a job in DACPL, Pune. I was placed in the core instrumentation field, which I was always interested in. This was the first time that I was going to be leaving Bombay, staying away from my family and leaving my comfort zone. Initially, my family was a bit hesitant about this shift, but after some explanation they were very supportive. Since my job profile included frequent site visits to various parts of the country, I realized that life was not going to be easy for a 22-year-old bachelor like me. The sudden shift from my cozy bedroom to the harshness of living as a Paying Guest gave me a reality check about what professional life really looks like. The transition from the delicious home-made food to eating junk 3 times a day started taking a toll on my pampered intestines. In addition to that, the environment in the office was not so familiar to that of college either and this vast difference was a new experience I vowed to digest. The fact that I was loving the work I was doing, made it a bit easy. Back then, The only silver lining in my life was the new experience I was going to soak in. My will to learn from the best kept me going. Adjusting with new roommates, trying to eat healthy food and interacting with new people seemed manageable because of my immense determination and will to grow both, professionally and personally.
