- Shortlisting based on minimum CAT 2023 cut-offs: This is where 90% of candidates are screened out based on minimum overall and sectional CAT cut-offs set by IIM Indore
- Shortlisting for PI round: This is where your overall profile and CAT score are evaluated to shortlist you for the PI round
- Final shortlisting: This is where the final shortlist is created by calculating a composite score that takes into account different areas of your profile + PI performance
Let's take a closer look at each of these steps and how they work out.
Stage 1 - Screening out candidates based on minimum CAT cut-offs
To make it past the very first step of IIM Indore's admissions process, you need to meet the minimum cut-offs set by the institute. For the 'General' category, the CAT 2023 cut-offs have been set at the 90th percentile (overall) and the 80th percentile (sectional). So, even if you do get a 90th percentile overall score but miss out even a single sectional cut-off, you don't move forward.
Please remember that simply meeting the cut-offs doesn't mean you're through to the PI round; it just means that you're eligible to be shortlisted for further rounds. Actual cut-offs depend on the number of students IIM Indore plans to admit for its PGP batch of 2024-2026.
Stage 2 - Shortlisting candidates for the PI round
If you've made it this far, you're now among the top-fraction of CAT test-takers shortlisted by IIM Indore. Now, further filtering will take place based on specific selection criteria. In the case of IIM Indore, these criteria include 10th marks, 12th marks, sectional CAT 2023 performance, and diversity.
Typically, shortlists for IIM Indore's personal interview round come around mid / late January, based on which you'll know if you've made it to the PI round.
Stage 3 - Shortlisting candidates for final admission
If you were shortlisted in Stage 2, you'll undergo IIM Indore's PI process. For the second consecutive year, IIM Indore has excluded the Writing Ability Test (WAT) component from the selection process. IIM Indore has also excluded 12th marks from the final shortlisting criteria. The remaining shortlisting criteria are captured below.
If you make it in the final shortlist, you'll be extended an admission offer around April 2024, and you'll become a part of IIM Indore's PGP batch of 2026!
