IMI-Kolkata has four Centres of Excellence aimed at fulfilling the gap of research, engagement, and capacity building in the areas of Financial Markets, Retail, Corporate Governance, and Social Responsibility and Asian Studies.
Established in 1981 with a campus in New Delhi, the International Management Institute (IMI) was India’s first corporate sponsored business school. During its inception, IMI was backed by prestigious corporate houses like RPG Enterprises, Nestle, ITC, SAIL, Tata Chemicals, BOC, and Williamson Magor. IMI Delhi, which is located in the Qutab Institutional Area, has been among the leading B-schools for almost three decades and is today a global institution. It was established in 1981 in collaboration with IMI Geneva (now IMD, Lausanne). Later in 2010, two more campuses came up in Kolkata and Bhubaneswar to enable bright young minds from eastern India to gain access to the world-class IMI management pedagogy.
The IMI-Kolkata campus is centrally located in the city and equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructural, academic and residential facilities. The institute offers not only a scholarly and professional ambience, but also a fulfilling campus life necessary for all-round development of the student. The campus buildings are separated into an academic block and a residential block. The academic block is centrally air-conditioned with spacious lecture theatres, equipped with the latest audio-visual teaching aids and wireless laptops for students to access the IMI-Kolkata intranet. The residential block houses single-occupancy hostel rooms for students.
