Hailing from Mumbai it’s very unlikely that one might not have passed through the epic Bandra – Worli

sea link (which is also a famous tourist spot there simply due to its grandiosity and beauty resonating

with the spirit of the city). The main thing that comes into one’s mind while watching such structures in

awe is the constructional excellence and makes me wonder the amount of cement that is used in

such mammoth projects! Cement is one of the building blocks of any nation and also the second most

important industry in India after Iron and steel. And when it comes to cement, the first name that

strikes is the ULTRATECH cement whose parent is the Aditya Birla group. If there was something like

“DESH ka Cement”, it had to be ULTRATECH cement. Also incidentally it is the same cement used in

construction of Bandra Worli sea link and many other giants!

Aditya Birla group is a huge conglomerate and we encounter a lot of their products in our day to day

lives. It’s impossible to imagine life today without the ABG. Right from the cement used in the

wonderful houses we stay in, to the variety of apparels and clothing we use, from telecom sector to

the overall health of second oxygen in our lives – money, ABG takes care of them all! ABG is home to

some of the best clothing brands in India like Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter

England and our very own Pantaloons, of which I am a proud customer myself and recommend the

same to others. They provide the best value for money and are extremely customer centric.

The mission of ABG to deliver superior value to customers, shareholders, employees and society at

large is being successfully implemented by the team. Apart from business, they also play an important

role in giving back to society in form of running medical camps, providing treatments, immunization,

providing mid-day meals. All these aspects have made ABG a big part in my life.

After completing my engineering, I worked in an IT industry as a software developer for an Australian

Banking client. Being from non- IT background, adjusting to the new environment was a little tough for

me. I was put through a new project similar to UPI payment system and was the only member for

around two months in it. It was all up on my shoulders to learn, ask, fail and learn again. Though I had

support from one of my senior but it was largely on me. But I was determined to make through it,

taking out the most from that project even if it meant working late all days a week sometimes. I did put

in a lot of efforts in that and it paid off well. It was indeed a great learning experience for me. After 2

months, two more new associates were put on the same project and I helped them sail through the

initial phase of their learnings in that project.
