Everyone knew that those thousand-year-old monuments that got destroyed in the quake needed to be reconstructed, so we could restore our pride once more. But how do we get it done? That’s when Birla cement came in my life with its tagline ‘Majbuti Aur Biswas ka doosra Naam, Birla cement.’ After forming a volunteer group with some of my people of the locality, we decided to take a step forward in aiding my country to stand on its feet by its own. We knew we had to build those monuments back again. But how do we do it? How can a group of 50 people construct all those damaged monuments? We knew all of it was not practically possible, however, we could definitely take an initiative at least and rebuild the temple we grew up worshiping in. But how was that possible?
It needed a lot of strength, both mental and physical, to make that possible. That was the ‘Majbuti’ we were seeking for. But strength alone wasn’t enough. We actually needed to believe in ourselves that we can get back to where we were before. That was the ‘Biswas’ part we craved. And there was one thing we still required to complement our ‘Majbuti’ and ‘Biswas’. We needed a reliable cement to glue both of them and to create a monument, and the world knows there aren’t many cement companies more reliable than Birla Cement. Aditya Birla group knowingly or unknowingly was one of the major reason behind Nepal’s rehabilitation. Thousands of monuments that quake destroyed was rebuilt one by one, and much of it was rebuild using Birla cement.
The job is still not done. We are still recovering from the tragedy that hit us. There have been times when the country felt like we could never get back to how we were before. But Birla cement, with its uncompromisingly quality, has stood alongside the hope of Nepalese to restore our cultural heritages and rebuild them one after the other. Despite me being unsure of where this story will land up in, I would like to take this opportunity to actually thank the Aditya Birla group for standing beside my country when we needed you the most. Thank you for all the wonderful range of services you have expanded to our country. And I am not alone, 30 million Nepalese shares the same feeling.
