Why Aditya Birla Group is big part in my life.
Life in Mumbai is as fast as speed of sound. Even a delay of 1 min can change the life of many people. With this speed, every second counts and ABG understood that. ABG was the cement partner of one of the major projects that India has seen, Bandra-Worli Sea link. Reducing the time of Bandra Worli connectivity from 30 minutes to 10 minutes, was a big relief in the life of many people of Mumbai. Living in Mumbai during that time, I personally felt the relief that was provided and the level of service that link offered.
Another story of my life where ABG touched my life was during my 1st week of my 1st company. I remember looking around stores to find formal shirts for my 1st week. That is when I encountered Louis Phillippe and the quality of apparels it offered. I remember purchasing 4 pairs of formals, and never regretting ever since. From that day onwards, Louis Phillipe has been one of my go-to brands.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life (one of the...).
There was this time during my 3rd year at Accenture, when I realized that I wanted more from this work. I wanted to learn more about the overall experience of handling a project, rather than just following the orders and developing the code that I was asked to. I was good at that, but never really felt a connection with the work. So, I planned to switch, and not just switch, but to do an MBA. I wanted to shift from the developing domain to administrative domain. I wanted to learn more about the daily activities, such as marketing, market, finance, supply chain etc.
Right when I thought I was going to put up my papers in 2 months, a big change project came. I was part of a client’s project where we were required to completely switch the platform from an obsolete one to modern day one. This was not a welcoming news, as I had to work on this for 1 year straight to complete the task. The very next month, my bike broke and I had to start commuting by bus in Delhi’s traffic. Everything was going bad, as I had to work on my project, commute in bus even after having motion sickness, and also prepare for my CAT exam.
I never gave up and planned my schedule for 4 months and worked accordingly. Even after giving my CAT exam, I had to run to my office to finish a deployment. I learned during this phase, that planning activities and sticking to them can help finish a task smoothly.
