IIM Ahmedabad – PGP ABM – Final Placements – Class of 2016
The Final Placement Process for PGP –ABM (Post-Graduate Programme in Agribusiness Management) was successfully completed yesterday. The Batch of 2016 comprising of 45 students were presented with job opportunities in food, agribusiness and allied sectors. Recruiters and participants alike appreciated the robust process, efficaciously matching talent with opportunities.
The niche combination of sector specific knowledge and managerial competence facilitated by the PGP-ABM Programme is highly valued by the Industry. Recruiters further corroborated this by creating new positions to better utilize the wide pool of talent offered. A total of 33 firms took part in the process from varying sectors like FMCG, Agri inputs, BFSI, Consulting, Retail and extended 56 offers to the students. Godrej Group of companies and Future Group were the top recruiters, recruiting six and four students respectively. The process saw participation from a number of first time recruiters like Reckitt Benckiser, HDFC, Amazon-Cloudtail, ADM, Span Divergent and OmniActives. Regular recruiters like Yes Bank, Rabo Bank, Syngenta, Monsanto and TAFE reaffirmed their confidence in the Programme and Placement process by extending multiple offers.
The batch attracted a diverse pool of recruiters, ranging from MNCs to small and medium enterprises as well as upcoming start up firms. A notable fact about the placements this year was the inclination of the students to work in the social and development sector. Two students from the batch opted for a job opportunity in Rajasthan Grameen Aajeevika Vikas Parishad (Rajeevika), a government organization working towards the empowerment of the rural poor.

Further details about the placement process including details about compensation will be released in an audited report, as per the Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS). The IPRS is an initiative introduced by IIMA to bring about greater transparency in B-school placement reporting across the country. The IPRS report for ‘Final Placements 2016’ will be released within 6 months from the date of graduation, and the link to the report will be shared with all stakeholders, once released.
