Looking at high prices, made me wonder who would buy it in India. Out of curiosity, I started reading more about it and collecting information. Then I realized, how marketing plays such a huge role in the placement of product and selling.
On deeper probing, I found out more about marketing and various job scope in it. Working for such a huge brand and thinking of other perks got me goose bumps. Deep down I have decided, what I want in my life and what I want to do.
But the major issue was already waiting for me, i.e. to convince my family. They wanted me to go for civil services after my B Tech. According to them as I was a hardworking and brilliant kid, so I should go for civil services. And my father himself has prepared hard for civil services, he wanted me to complete his dream. Grandfather was more determined about the same. When I told them about my plan, I had to face several questions. Their doubt for the marketing job after MBA made them hesitant to allow me to pursue my passion.
It took almost a year to convince all of them. Finally, after one year of rigorous effort, they gave up and allowed me to follow my dream.
Being from a rural area, it was more difficult for me to start the preparation. So in spite of the odds, I started preparation for CAT. A single attempt was not enough to bring me closer to my dream, and I was not ready to give up at any cost, so I took one more chance, as it was worth every effort to get admission into IIM- most prestigious B-Schools of India. Finally, after crossing so many hurdles, I took one step closer towards my dream and I made it to IIM Rohtak.
After getting into college I realized that it was not enough. To strive among such a huge talent of students across India, you need to work hardest you can. Here started the real competition and struggle to survive it. I learned throughout my first and I am still learning in the second year, making myself ready for corporate life.
