offers multiple products in approximately all the sectors of Indian economy which we all are using
approximately daily, knowingly or unknowingly. There are many instances, these products touch our
lives, but here I would like to mention a special moment of my life where ABG has played a very
important role.
Coming to my introduction, I belong middle class family, having my father working under state
government at indore, M.P. Like other parents, my parents too have a lot of expectations from me
and I have a dream in my eyes of attaining something different.
I was always interested in attaining management career, and finally I got the opportunity of giving
CAT exam on 25th Nov 2018. The exam went well and I was eagerly waiting for the results. In
January 2019 when my CAT results got released, I was very happy and feeling blessed. But this was
not the end, by January mid, luckily I got an interview call from a few IIMs, this was like a dream
come true. It was a very happy moment for me, but at the same time I was concerned about the
next interview round. It was the first time I was going for an MBA interview, so I contacted a few of
my seniors and some colleagues regarding the same. Surprisingly everyone told me the same thing
"The first impression is the last impression".
I was tensed and nervous too, the same day one of my senior called me and suggested to visit Peter
England for the formal interview clothing. Luckily his suggestion was absolutely correct, I went there
and got a large variety of formal suits giving me an opportunity to choose from one of the best
collections i had ever seen. As black is my favourite colour, I went for a black suit. The suit was
looking amazing and I love the material quality of the same. There was a slight alteration required in
the pants, but I thought i need to get it done from outside so didn't raise the concern in the store.
But the staff was so good and experienced that they identified my concern and got it altered for me.
I came back to my home and started preparing for my interview.
After four days, I had my interview at The Monarch Hotel, Bangalore. I was feeling very confident in
my attire and finally, my interview was very good. It went very smoothly and my panelists were very
much impressed with my confidence level.
Finally, I got selected in one of the best colleges in Indian, IIM-Raipur. Initially, I was not able to
believe, but this was true. It was like a dream come true for me, this made my parents very happy
and proud for my achievement. This was one of the best movements of my life where ABG was
standing by my side and It made me deliver my best.
PART-B: Overcoming the Challenge
As I was born in a very small town at Indore, I did my schooling from a government school in a place
named, Sukhnivas, Indore. The school wasn't that developed to provide all the facilities. And this
eventually resulted in developing a lot a stage fear inside me and I started being too much conscious
about my words and speech in any group activities or interviews. There were many instances I was
having correct points but because of this fear, I was not able to express myself before everyone else.
This gradually became so much that I started getting ignored in group activities and my friends
started avoiding me. The same thing happened with me during my job interviews, which resulted in
the rejection of my candidature.
The day came and I finally decided to do something to overcome this fear. In this, I took help from
one of my good friends who suggested me few tips to overcome the fear. I started talking with myself
seeing the mirror to improve my speech and also started taking part in debates even if I was not
confident about the subject. This was slightly shameful for me but the difficult phase ended soon.
Then I started with group discussions, by giving one or two important points which gradually made
me more and more confident.
This was really a turning point in my life, I took part in multiple stage shows and group discussions.
After which I gave the most important interview of my life for admission to MBA college and I
converted IIM, Raipur. It was really a life-changing decision for me and now I can finally say that I
love to speak before the public and I am very comfortable to express my true views before everyone.
