How Have You Made An Impact
When I was in school, I was an extremely shy kid. Simple tasks like giving orders to the waiter were a daunting task for me. Getting on stage made me jittery and nervous. The first year of my college was overwhelmingly difficult for me because it was the first time I had been exposed to so many activities and interactions with people. Looking at people around me who were participating so actively and exuded a lot of confidence gave me inspiration to get out of my comfort zone. So, I started by participating in events like stage play to get rid of my stage fear. In one of those competitions, I froze due to nervousness and the audience burst out in laughter. This incident had really hurt my self-esteem and I felt depressed for many days. But I decided to let go of my inhibitions and keep trying. I eventually went on to win first prize in many stage play and street play competitions. The fear of getting on stage got replaced by a welcome feeling of adrenaline rush. This gave me further confidence to take initiatives. I subsequently co-founded the IEEE Student Branch in my college led my college to be in the top two branches in Gujarat. This struggle taught me how anyone can achieve whatever they want if they just keep on trying without the fear of getting judged. This also taught me how failure is a part of life and we should take the lessons from the failure in our stride and keep working for a better future.
