Coming from a military background, I have lived in several areas across the country all through my childhood. One would assume that I had been a tough kid due to my upbringing and familial military background. But truth be told, I had faced quite a few difficulties, in part due to my South Indian heritage and complexion. I had trouble mingling with my predominantly Hindi speaking peers, as well as been subject of their ridicule based on entirely my complexion. It did get to me often, and I'd find myself trudging behind others in all matters, from studies to sports. But i eventually learned to take it in my stride, and I thrived in spite of the difficulties. I eventually worked on the shortcomings that I could do something about, and eventually covered the gap between my peers and me.
One thing I had imbibed in my childhood had been to give my hundred percent till the very end. And that has helped me overcome certain other challenges in my life on both educational as well as a personal front. I have also been able to garner a good support system for myself in terms of family, as well as friends. This has been instrumental in me being able to thrive and succeed in difficult situations. Further, I have cultivated a habit of adapting to situations as they arise, no matter how difficult they seem. This too, has helped me to be malleable enough to survive high tension environments without cracking under the pressure.
