IIM Jammu, the most recently established Indian Institute of Management, is under the mentorship of one of India's top management institutes - IIM Lucknow. This means that many faculty members at IIM Lucknow take classes at IIM Jammu, and the pedagogy and curriculum at IIM Jammu is similar to that of IIM Lucknow, thereby replicating the elite stature of the Lucknow based institute.

Selection Criteria
The admission process of IIM Jammu consists of:
CAT Examination
Short listing candidates for Personal Appearance (PA) process.
Conducting the PA process: PA process is composed of Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Interview (PI). The PA process will be common to all the 10 IIMs, namely, IIM Bodh Gaya, Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur and IIM Trichy, IIM Udaipur.
Preparing the Merit List based on CAT score, WAT & PI score and Profile score as indicated in following tables.
- Criteria for Short listing to PA (WAT & PI) process
The cut-off percentile marks for eligibility to PA process in the three sections and the total CAT percentile for different categories of students are given below as decided in the Common Admission Process 2019:
Category | Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension Percentile | Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning Percentile | Quantitative Ability Percentile | Overall Percentile |
(VARCP) | (DILRP) | (QAP) | (OP) | |
General | 80 | 80 | 80 | 95 |
NC-OBC | 60 | 60 | 60 | 78 |
SC | 50 | 50 | 50 | 60 |
ST | 30 | 30 | 30 | 40 |
DAP | 30 | 30 | 30 | 40 |
IIM Jammu's Admission Committee will decide the number of candidates who would be called for PA process on the basis of criteria prepared for each category. However, if the actual number of short-listed candidates were found to be less (more) than the required number of candidates to be called for WAT & PI category-wise, then the overall as well as section-wise minimum score would be reduced (increased) to get the desired number of candidates.
The 10 IIMs (IIM Bodh Gaya, Jammu, IIM Kashipur, IIM Raipur, IIM Ranchi, IIM Rohtak, IIM Sambalpur, IIM Sirmaur and IIM Trichy, IIM Udaipur) have decided to adopt a common admission process (CAP 2019 process) of WAT & PI to be coordinated this year by IIM Ranchi. The performance of the candidate in WAT & PI of CAP 2019 would be considered for preparing the merit list.
