Superheroes are on a roll! — Shashank Mandlekar, SIBM Pune

It would be unfair on my part if I did not compare the Aditya Birla’s product’s as a superhero. Be it at any time, when I look back at my school days when Freshwrapp kept the “Ghar ka khana” as “Ghar ka Khana” by keeping it hot and fresh (referring to the Freshwrapp’s advertisement: Pun intended). Or if I consider my current situation, when I have come far from home, first time in 25 years. It is the Idea network keeping me in touch with my family.

SIBM Pune has a got a Landing Strip

Just like every kid has a superhero, I saw mine in my father. The biggest influencer to my life that I have ever known. He always knew how to incept an idea at the back of my mind. This is the reason that I was so intrigued in the organisation he worked in, that I started foreseeing to becoming a part of that industry. Through Air India, I started dreaming of becoming a pilot. And before I could come into senses, I already had boarded the airplane of dreams to ferry me to different destinations. Yes, without any doubt it was my father, till my graduation who decided and bought tickets for my airplane ride of dreams (Like I said, he was a biggest influencer). So, this plane took my to Engineering. Though, this destination taught me very big lessons but this wasn’t the one that I chose. As it was time to board another plane to a job in government sector, I made a mistake. A mistake that led me to a place where I am right now. I boarded the wrong plane and more importantly, I started to enjoy this journey. It was now time for me to realise and work hard to prove my worth.

I joined a private organisation in Sales department and started to give my best at it irrespective of all the day long dissatisfaction that I faced. Simultaneously, preparing for MBA entrances while preparing for CGL-Common Graduate Level exam. The biggest challenge that I faced wasn’t at intellectual level but at a support level. Wherein I was always warned for selecting the wrong stream for my career. It was my diligence, persistence and hard work, that I acted on two challenges simultaneously. These challenges being: convincing my loved ones that my decision is right and preparing for my entrance. Finally, I boarded this plane of my dreams and sat for the entrance.

And it is true to say that SIBM Pune has got a landing strip. This allowed my plane of dreams to land and gave me a green signal to move ahead.
