From Aluminum Foils by Hindalco Industries Limited, the metals flagship company of Aditya Birla Group to being India’s leading telecommunication provider covering 840 million Indians through Vodafone Idea Limited and being No.1 Carbon Black producer in the world, Aditya Birla Group has been an integral part in reshaping not only India but different parts of the world as well. It has been helping connecting not only people but different towns and cultures as well. Ultra tech cement, has been helping connect towns and people of rural areas to major cities and providing them with proper and safe houses to live in since 1983.
When I look back, I realize I have always been connected to Aditya Birla Group. From wearing my first business suit during my high school graduation and buying formal shirts and trousers for my very first exposure of the corporate world, Aditya Birla Fashion and retail limited was always there to my rescue. Even now, when I have moved on to the next chapter of my life at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Kolkata, away from my home for the very first time, the Vodafone network helps me keep in touch with my family and friends back home.
The Biggest Challenge of my life.
Every individual has some passion or hobby they want to pursue when they are feeling stressed. For me it has always been running and outdoor sports specially Football. I have always been a regular participant in football activities during my school and under graduation days.
I suffered from a fracture in my Left ankle during my 12th Standard while playing and having born with low bone density it was huge blow to my passion for playing football. It took me 6 months to recover from the injury and start playing again, cautiously.
However, the respite was short lived as I suffered a second blow, this time to my Right knee where I ruptured my anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) at multiple spots, during that period I was a working professional and gained around 20 Kilograms and was told I won’t be able to play again if I stay in the same condition as my weakened bones won’t be able to handle pressure of my body.
I was told bed rest for 3-4 months and I thought about giving up multiple times but the sheer passion that I had for football kept me going through the tough time. I started my recovery through physiotherapy and slow jogging and started following a healthy diet as part of my daily routine. When I was fit enough to play light sports, I started with table tennis and slowly moving on to Lawn tennis where less pressure was put on my legs as compared to football. Within 7 months I was able to lose 25 Kilograms and completely recover from my injury and has started playing football again.
In the end, through my experience I can say that nothing Is impossible if you have enough passion to overcome your obstacles.
