Aditya Birla Group, a US $44.3 billion corporation, the Aditya Birla Group is in the League of Fortune 500. The Group is built on a strong foundation of stakeholder value creation. With over seven decades of responsible business practices, ABG has grown into a global powerhouse in a wide range of sectors – metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom and cement. Today, over 50% of Group revenues flow from overseas operations that span 34 countries in North and South America, Africa and Asia.

Great businesses are never built on the quick sands of opportunism. I reiterate that, if living by our values means, perhaps growing at a pace slower than we would otherwise have liked, so be it. For us, leadership lies at the heart of knowing what we stand for – Kumar Mangalam Birla, Chairman

  • ABG like I said, plays a major part in my life starting from tires I used for my car where nanoparticles come from Birla Carbon Nanoparticles which keeps me and my family safe in all conditions.
  • And put my country on a world map in the sense of infrastructure, thanks to Ultra Cements for The Bandra-Worli sea-link.
  • I still remember my first blazer and suit of my life gifted by my father, coming from brands like Louis Philippe and Van Heusen.
  • The best Idea-Vodafone, my first phone number from which I have a lot of memories to start with calling parents when you are staying miles apart in a different state to call your crush in the middle of the night.
  • And every Friday night has become a chore for me and my mom to get to the supermarket store – MORE to get the groceries required for the whole week and argue over who’s going to pay the bill.
  • With my first salary, I got a Jeans jacket to my sister from FOREVER 21 and I still clearly remember her excitement by looking at the jacker, by the way, she absolutely loved it.

All I can say is Thanks a lot ABG for being there in every step of my life and making it better, Grateful.

Overcoming Challenges to achieve ambitions in my life

Challenges, I say starting from waking up to the alarm to eating healthy or eating anything at all for breakfast to being on time to class/office with all the traffic to meeting deadlines for assignments or project to decide whether to go out after office with boss or with friends or with girlfriend/boyfriend and to reach home on time to sleeping on time. In just a day, I face multiple challenges but the best part of it is the challenges itself is fun and without those the whole life just gets boring.

To take one such example out of all the challenges, I hail from a typical south Indian Telugu family, where speaking Hindi is a challenge. And my first out of office project is to set up a team in Delhi- B company (Vendor) and I represent A company(client). The first thought was, I don’t the language and I don’t know the culture and I don’t know anyone from the B company (vendor) and the list was never-ending. But then, thanks the magnitude of the opportunity all I told myself was from the lyrics of a song, “If it does kill you, it’ll just make you stronger”.  And fast forward 6 months of the absolute time of my life, I received the best Risk Advisor of the year 2017. How I did it, thanks to the words from my dad “Nobody cares how hard you try, there’s only win or lose. No bounty for trying”.  So, I did everything I know to the point and did the same consistently and challenges become learning and fun part of my routine.

And I decided to take this attitude forward for the challenges to come and reach the ambitions of my life.
