Right from my mobile to finance, it was ready to cover all. I started with my 3-month Vodafone-Idea mobile recharge. This barely took time. All that it required was a click on the app, and there you go, it was done. What consumed most of my time was the selection of suits, blazers, t-shirts, shirts, jeans, socks and shoes from Louis Philippe, Van Heusen and so many brands with unlimited choices just within a single roof of Pantaloons. It was unbelievable how I finished all my shopping within a day from a single place. In fact, all my farewell gifts were sorted too!
If things weren’t enough on the retail side, my father devised a monthly mutual fund sch eme on the ABG stocks which could be retained until I start earning after my placements or even further. It was like a whole package being delivered at my doorstep. I was free from all the tension within 2 days. The impact this company has on our lives is massive. And each part of it is so joyfully completed. ABG is a BIG company while it has so many hands to fulfil our SMALL wants.
“ We are bigger than what makes us anxious”
A constant involvement in extracurricular activities laid the foundation of my formative years. Being a member of the school Nature Club for four consecutive years groomed me as a leader. Not only did it make me patient and professional, I realised the importance of altruistic happiness. Faced with innumerable problems starting from the NGOs, policemen, hospitals, schools, wetland conservators, this experience prepared me well for my under-graduation.
I also grabbed the opportunity to trek with an international organisation - DEAS reaching the highest peaks in the northeast. Having interacted with students from different parts of the world, it widened my global outlook. I felt the need to know much more than my family and friends. There are many bigger challenges of life not only as individuals but as a whole nation that we face. Along with such engagements, it was always important to perform academically, the good reading and study habits inculcated at school motivated me towards reading storybooks. This ensured a holistic development. In order to create an impact, one need not just be active on the curricular front. Knowledge and information are equally important. Today, as a marketing student, I see it is the content that I speak and I type is what that differentiates me from the rest.
Lastly, being a part of the 24 member NCC Air Wing Cadets, the practise sessions after school, helped me set standards for myself and taught me to stick to my principles and discipline. It also developed empathy and humility in me. Hence, when accumulated together, I can proudly say that the challenges that I have faced in my life are way beyond what they seem to be and have played its role robustly in shaping me into who I am.
