Being a middle class family person, my first time mall visit was very memorable. Branded bright clothes always lured me to enter those gigantic and beautiful showrooms. My first branded buy of a Jeans was from Pantaloons. With time, I came to know Pantaloons was owned by Aditya Birla Group. I was even more surprised when I came to know about Aditya Birla Group’s ownership of so many reputed apparel brands all over the world.
Intensity of Brands like Aditya Birla Group takes years to build and even more years to forget. I always see my nation in the image of the Brand.
India is about to touch 1.5-billion-mark population to become the most populated country in the world. Despite the source of such a huge human resource and mineral resource potential, India is lagging behind by significant numbers in terms of GDP generation. Even our closest neighbor China Is far higher in GDP compared to India.
I think the time has come to shift the blame to our attitude for not contributing enough to the development of the country as a whole. Many of us think that individual contribution in a big country like India would not matter at all. Many of us always have to blame the politics of our country for not achieving developmental recognition in front of the world. Many of us think individual changes won’t bring in much impact to the system. All these seems an excuse to me because there are countries which transformed themselves into a trillion-dollar economy decades after their formation. It has to be the collective attitude of the people living in the country to be able to bring in a lot of change.
I decided to change myself and become an environment savior with my smallest of contributions in the individual level. But I do not have any idea when I had begun to change. I don’t remember the day when I have thrown a non-biodegradable waste on the road or on bare earth soil. I don’t remember the day when I had stopped taking plastic bags whenever I go to a shop for buying some stuffs. Now, I am well accustomed to this habit and have been able to influence a lot of people around me.
I might not see the drastic change in the environment because of my change but I am pretty sure about doing justice to the years of education I have received. After all, I want myself to be called an educated guy.
