With the operations spanning 34 countries and an extraordinary employee base of more than 120000, Aditya Birla Group is serving this nation since its foundation in 1857. With its core value of providing the best quality and services with the main objective of achieving maximum customer satisfaction and its dedication towards building a better society, it worth noticing that ABG is also the flag bearer of Indian values in the international market.
My first encounter with Aditya Birla group was when I came to know that the Ultratech cement that my parents were using for the construction of our house is the product of ABG and the apparels brands like Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England and Louis Philip that we trust the most are all from ABG. Ever since I have perceived ABG for its excellent quality delivery. My family has also been a regular beneficiary of idea’s telecom network which provides quality services at reasonable prices. I have also been a big fan of the creativity which gets reflected in all of their commercials as all of their advertisements also contains some social messages. Now, after its merger with the Vodafone, I feel that India’s largest mobile telecommunication network is in safe hands.
Being an active member of several NGOs, I have always appreciated how ABG has marked its presence to work for the underprivileged on the forefront. With the reach of around 7.5 million people annually through the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, ABG group has proved its worth in the business world and as a leading organization that gives back to the society.
2. How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
“The bitter is yet to be encountered .”
The above statement has always been a guiding factor in my life and never let me give up on me. As a 23-year-old, I accept that I have a lot to discover about me and my ambitions and also believe that life has a lot to put in my basket, be it positive or negative. I feel privileged that I always have the support of my friends and my family which kept me walking on the right path and made me realize that I can take up on bigger and bitter challenges that I have faced till now.
This reminds of the 15th August 2008, I was the winner of intraschool speech competition and was invited to present a speech as a student representative. Due to a throat infection, I was not prepared well but still didn’t want to give up on this opportunity, so I chose not to tell anyone anything about my situation. On the stage I started delivering my speech, I saw the crowd felt the trouble in my voice and then felt a blank, I was not able to complete my speech. Although my friends and the teachers were very supportive still that incident shook my confidence and I developed stage fright and was in concern that people will make fun of me if same gets repeated. I stopped participating in any public speaking events. This went on for the next four years and I started believing I am not going to do it. But in my early engineering days, I encountered one line from my professor that okay if I do bad but if sitting idle is going to add any positive points for me. That one conversation completely changed the way I think and from that day onwards I again became active on stage and did participate a lot more activities and turned myself into a much more confident person.
