I recall a recent incident when I had to immediately acquire a suit for a very formal occasion. It was a Thursday and I was looking for a plain black suit which could fit me properly. Even after lots of trials, at different shops in a mall, I couldn’t find a single suit that could extend and cover my arms properly and even if the arms were proper the suit was too loose and I looked bloated in it. After hours of searches I finally found a Van heusen showroom and in the showroom I found a suit which not only fit my arms but also was a perfect fit for my body. The employees were very friendly and were very happy to tailor adjustments to the suit in case of a misfit. The relief I had when I found a brand which could provide me the perfect clothing was huge. Even if it was a minor incident it definitely was the perfect moment when Aditya Birla group reached out its hand to help me.
HOW I OVERCAME CHALLENGES TO ACHIEVE MY AMBITIONS IN LIFE SO FAR
It was September 2019 and I had just finished my training course in advanced embedded technology. I knew that I had a very few time of 2 months to prepare for my CAT entrance exam. I Frantically searched the internet with terms like “how to prepare cat exam in less than 2 months” and “how to crack cat easily” and all I found was generic terms like “daily preparation” and “solving daily problems”. Some of the discussion forums had coaching teachers explaining that at least 6 months of preparation was needed to get into a proper college. I broke into a cold sweat and sat with my hands on my head in my living room. Seeing me in such a sad state my mother approached me and gave a warm drink. She advised how a long journey begins with very short steps and think of the 2 months not as a shortcoming but an opportunity to improve myself.
With the given hope I finally calmed myself and start thinking of paths I could undertake to achieve my goal. I decided to practice tests each day until the final event. It was a very arduous task and it took me a lot of effort to keep focusing on the tests. Some days I felt sluggish and was overwhelmed with emotions to give up and but even in the face of adversity I pushed on. After attempting many tests, I finally achieved a pace where I felt comfortable solving these tests. My decision to move ahead was clearly evident in the results of these mock tests.
When the day came and I successfully finished my cat online paper I felt a huge wave of relief washing over me and when I learned that I was accepted in XIMB, Bhubaneswar, one of the top Bschools in India I was flooded with joy. It was this journey that taught how important your family is in your life and hard work triumphs over everything.
