Aditya Birla Group has been a part of my life right from the childhood days. From packing my
lunch in Freshwrapp in school, to shopping for the Jet Black formals at Peter England and Ralph
Lauren, ABG group has always been a trustworthy partner. My first mobile back in 2010 was
accompanied by the ABG's Idea network. And I still very well remember that number.
The dream of any common man is to have his own home in this cutting throat world. And this dream
of mine was nurtured by Ultratech cement, which stood strong by me in shaping the house of my
dream last year in September.
These small bits add up to make the Aditya Birla Group a big and irreplaceable part of our lives with
its reliability and service over the years which never once left us even wanting or rather thinking
about switching to any other competitor brand.
After coming to IIM Raipur and having case study of Aditya Birla Group's success story, I was
intrigued and thus further tried to study its annual report and I was astonished how impactful it is in
all our lives, and with every new story I come across, the impact of the group seems even bigger than
I could have imagined.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life.
One of the toughest challenges that I have faced and continue to face is living up to the
expectations I set for myself. I put high goals in front of me and sometimes when things don't
work out the way I want them to, it is tough to go forward. A similar thing happened to me
when I started preparing for CAT just after I graduated. Not only I aspired to score good
percentile, but also I wanted to get into top B-School this year itself. Since my financial
situation wasn't too good, I also decided to take tutions of children of classes 6th to 10th.
Meanwhile, I was also involved in part-time online tutoring with Chegg as a Chegg Expert. It
was a little tiresome for me to cope up with preparations along with tutions, but the things
were on track before I was caught up with severe jaundice in September just 2 months
before the exam. I was hospitalized for 4 days and was adviced bedrest for 2-3 weeks due to
weakness. But still, I didn't give up and took this situation as a challenge and performed
quite well in CAT, achieving 98+ percentile. The one thing I learned after going through this
phase is that each and everything is achievable if you have the will power, perseverance and
'Never Give Up' attitude in your life.
