The Aditya Birla Group also has it’s presence in other areas such as healthcare, education, sustainable livelihood programmes, infrastructure and model village. They have done a tremendous amount of work in the healthcare industry which is proven by the fact that over 1 million patients have been treated at medical camps and hospitals. They took fight against polio and helped 70 million children get immunised.
I consider the Aditya Birla Group as a perfect platform to showcase my skills and abilities where I think that the efforts put in by me would be the most fruitful. It would truly be an honour to work for them and be a part of the Aditya Birla Group family.
Lost Cause To Cause Found
I am Nalin Haldwani from Delhi. This is my journey from the bottom of chaos to one of the best business schools of the country.
Childhood was a difficult time for me. I was born to do over achieving doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and even early on, I knew that the syringe and the scalpel were not many things.
The biggest turning point was in my higher secondary. I bit the bullet and joined the science group in class 11. The moment I opened my text books for the first time, the all too familiar childhood fear of aimlessness was apparent. I knew I was a misfit there. My parents called it a day and shifted me to the Commerce Group in my class 12. It was a difficult task for me to complete the syllabus for two years within 10 months. I did manage to complete it, and thereafter, I joined Bachelors of Commerce course thinking that Chartered Accountacy was what I wanted to become.
To my rude surprise, it wasn’t. I was good in accounting, but I knew that this was not where I wanted to go. After graduating, I made the most difficult choice yet: taking a step back and introspecting.
It took me two years to understand myself, know what I want from life. The answer so simple: I wanted to help people like my parents did, and I was lost because I thought medicine was the only way to do so. My life’s dream is to start, or work in, a socially responsible firm. And I believe that a business school would be the best place for me to reach the destination.
I am Nalin and this is my story. If you feel overwhelmed, do not hesitate to take a step back. Your life is only for you, and for nobody else.
