Irrelevant as it may sound, Tango’s got nothing to do with my article. However, my next three hundred words or so would revolve around the latter. The past three months, to be precise the first Trimester of my MBA Life, has taught me a lot of lessons. So here’s a glimpse into my first trimester at SBM, NMIMS Mumbai.
Lesson One, You don’t always have vada with sambar, you have vada with rickshaw too. (Grammar Nazis, please forgive me!) Breakfast on wheels!
Lesson Two, If you are three in a room, there isn’t really a necessity to have a bath. Doing so, even for ten minutes may lead to a loss of a one and a half hour lecture. (So probably you could go for a late night shower)
Lesson Three, Rickshaws are nice, until you have to stop one. So how do you do it? “Bhaiyya, Pratiksha chaloge, Amitabh Bachchan ka purana wala bungalow” (Just NM things!)
Lesson Four, Your only companion is your alarm. (Alarms could be humans too, just saying! )
Lesson Five, Chai is life, but Coffee is wife. (Now I leave that to you, to be deciphered)
Lesson Six, Always carry an extra blazer, if not carry two more perfumes to compensate for that. (Just Bschool things!)
Lesson Seven, Understanding is important but participation is a necessity! (Par DCP Math karo yaar!)
Lesson Eight, treat Pre-reads as a pre-read. There’s immense knowledge in doing so and it also helps you participate better. (It removes the D from the above, you see?).
Lesson Nine, Early to bed, early to rise doesn’t make Sumangal wise. Well well well, early to rise is a good thing but the former is not really a possibility. It may just happen that both of them clash, yeah?
Lesson Ten, well my last gyaan for today. Learn to prioritise. B-School life is the best exposure one could get. Competitions, case studies and a truck load of other opportunities is something you should not miss out on. Hence try to prioritise and try to pursue what you really want to pursue and balance it out well with your academics.
Also, I can’t wait to see what the next five trimesters have in store for me. That's my version of saying, "Hey, I'm excited!"
