In last 51 years, IIFT has evolved from being a foreign trade facilitator to a globally networked institution in international trade and business with a rich heritage, and strong alumni network both within India and abroad.   To have a look at the part one of this article (published in 2013), please click here. 10 things that make the institute special are: Focus on international trade: IIFT was established with the objective to improve understanding of various trade and economic issues among business executives and to conduct high-quality research that addresses domestic as well as world trade and business issues.  The MBA (International Business) is a foundational course for developing a competent cadre of business executives to meet the country’s growing requirements for training personnel in the field of international management. Social impact: The objective of Social Awareness Programme (SAP) is to sensitise the minds of the students with social issues through a presentation by partner NGOs and doing a project with them. This exercise helps the students in becoming good corporate citizen. Esteemed faculty: The Institute has achieved its stature on the strength of its highly accomplished and committed faculty. The Institute has a qualified and experienced Faculty with specialisation in diverse areas. The Institute also draws on expert guest faculty comprising specialists from business enterprises, research institutions, leading business schools and foreign universities. Rigorous and well-rounded curriculum: The MBA (IB) programme offered by IIFT is a six trimester general management programme with a focus on international business. The programme aims at providing a comprehensive coverage incorporating all the important areas and disciplines relevant to international business activities. The industry focused syllabi for MBA (IB) compares favorably with the syllabi of some of the world’s best International Business Schools. Haven for nature lovers- Spreading over six acres of land and overlooking the green ridge and historical Qutub Minar, theIIFT Campus provides an ideal environment for academic excellence. Be it the imposing structure of the atrium, the mystic beauty of the architectural design called eye of the universe, or the splendor of the campus in full bloom in winter, it never fails to impress the visitors. The campus itself is a very picturesque with artistically designed buildings and well-maintained plush gardens. Strong alumni base: IIFT has one of the most rigorous curriculumsamong Indian B schools which make IIFTians competent enough to make them rise to the top in a short span of time. The alumni have occupied enviable positions in the industry, showing strong representations across domains and industries. Quite a few of our alumni have risen fast enough to reach the CEO/Chairman/Partner designation in a lot of major multi-nationals. UWL: Ultimate Warriors’ League is IIFT’s annual sports fest organized on the lines of the IPL(Indian Premier League). The team owners of the four teams-Mumbai Mafia, Eastern Gladiators, Southern Stallions and Aryan Juggernauts-bid on the first and second year students. The bidding was live telecasted through a webinar. The extravaganza lasted seven days and saw enthralling matches of basketball, futsal, badminton, table tennis etc. To ensure maximum support for their teams, the marketing heads of each team organized fun events like karaoke nights, flash mobs and Tambola. Food trail-real place for policy debates: If you come to IIFT for a day, there are a plethora of gastronomic delights you can explore. The dhabas around IIFT campus are lifelines of the students. They serve chai, Maggi and parathas at affordable prices. The dhabas are also a host to students of other campuses like JNU and IIT, and it is not uncommon to find people debating on varied topics. The food outlets in and around IIFT offer something or other for everyone and offers food in every price range. Food trail of IIFT will give you an unforgettable experience of culinary delights and amazing cultural insights. KITTES- KITTES (Knowledge for Innovation in Trade & Technology for Entrepreneurial Start‐ups) is a dynamic business incubation cell dedicated to startups in the domain of international business. Run by the Centre of MSME Studies atIIFT (Delhi), the aim of KITTES is to provide hand holding support for MSME start‐ups right from ideation stage to their internationalisation towards taking a final leap into foreign markets. The cell is established with the CSR support from Mitsubishi Corporation of India and Metal One Corporation of India. Quo Vadis: It is one of India’s most prestigious management and cultural fests for B-schools. The students of IIFT also play host to many exciting startups on campus, creating the perfect entrepreneurial melting point, with mentors, VCs, angel investors. IIFT sees three days of cultural events and competitions with various popular musical artists performing on the musical nights.
