So the moment of truth, the "D-Day" is finally here! It's probably one of the most important days of such an unusual year. A lot of you must have struggled with your preparations because of different factors - the common one being the change in the pattern of the exam.
Here are a few things that you should remember on the D-Day:
- Take the necessary documents: It's very easy to forget important things when you are nervous and tensed about the exam. Make sure you keep your admit card and all other necessary documents (like PAN, Aadhaar etc) ready the night before the exam to avoid any last-minute hassles.Another important thing that you should remember to stick to the guidelines mentioned in your Admit Card for smooth exam procedure for you as well as for the organizers. :)
- Don't learn anything new: The worst time to learn anything new will be just before the exam (After all, it's not your college exam :P). Someone else might try to overwhelm you by talking about new concepts etc, but you need to have faith in your preparation till now. Remember that you can only give your best and leave the rest.
- Don't revise anything 1 hour before your exam: As much as you'd want to go through everything repeatedly and put it in your head all at once, it is not possible. You need some time to settle down and prepare yourself for the exam, to get that "Exam mindset".
- Relax!
"Time isn't the main thing, it's the only thing", and this quote holds so true for the CAT exam. You would solve the questions that have a greater probability of getting solved than waste your time worrying about the question that you're not able to solve. Worrying about a question is not going to solve it, and worrying about a ruined section is never going to help you in other sections. So, it's highly recommended to have a clear and calm mind during the exam. At the end of the day, it's only about how you manage your time and what you do at that time.
- Bio-Breaks: It might seem trivial but it can be the cause of worry for a lot of people (especially since the examination rooms are also air-conditioned). We are not allowed to take a bio-break in the middle of the exam and this used to worry me a lot. But fortunately, on the exam day, it didn't trouble me much (it may not be the same case for everyone). Make sure this is not a reason for disturbing your mind during the exam.
- Celebrate after your exam: No matter how it went, it's over and it's time to party now! Go out and have fun with your friends and family, watch a movie, eat your favourite cake, grab a pizza or do anything that makes you feel happy and be proud of yourself for clearing one milestone to your MBA journey. :)
Hope these tips help you.
All the Best for CAT 2020!
