My journey of 8 weeks started with the preparation of 12 weeks. Everyday hustle was on the go. Lectures, club activities, exams and internship preparations as well, all happening at once. This was my first step towards management. At that point in time, it seemed like the end of life, but soon, at my internship, I realized its importance. Someone well said that,” We appreciate the moment when it’s already gone”, and so happened with me.
To prepare for interviews most importantly is to know yourself. And before stepping for Interview, GD is something which is very important, many people fail to clear this. To prepare for GD most important is to read newspapers and GD topics from MBA universe website.
Also while sitting for any company make sure you know each and everything about that company.
For cracking interview know yourself and know the company you are sitting for and there you will crack the interview.
Make sure you are well groomed with properly ironed formals and look from head to toe while you sit for any gd or interview.
Moving further I cracked GD and interview for the company big basket for my summer internship, GD I cracked because I was very well versed about the facts of the gd topic and for interview, it was purely based on checking my confidence and knowledge by asking questions based on my work ex.
So my big basket journey started form 15th April, 2019.
Initially, we learned about the working of big basket and the operations part by visiting DC and Hubs. Initial week was of learning about big basket and orientation. From the second week to the end of my internship I worked on various roles like price benchmarking, app hygiene, setting prices for the city Mysore and many more things.
Most importantly I was connecting with all the tier 2 cities head on a daily basis which was very much beneficiary for me because of I as able to build relations with them.
Two Key learnings from internship were:
1) Knowing about margins can earn profit
2) Improved my ms excel knowledge
Since I was checking on price benchmarking it affected the company's revenue directly. In short, I was generating customers more for the company and increasing the revenue for the company, by cutting competition through benchmarking.
My overview of the knowledge of marketing in the first year which also includes presenting presentation skills and also knowing how to analyse competitors in the market and some technical knowledge of MS Excel helped me in making my internship smoother.
Most importantly that worked for me during my internship was the role of my mentor and my guide which helped me through solving each and every problem, whenever it has aroused. It is very important to always get guidance and learn more things apart from what you have been allotted through your mentor, guide and your peers.
