ABG touches millions in the world…
Yes, Aditya Birla Group touches millions in the world in some or the other way. When we talk about the richest persons in India we used to say “Tata and Birla”. Though the Group is behind the RIL still continues its legacy as the third-largest conglomerate in India. ABG is an Indian multinational conglomerate, headquartered in Worli, Mumbai, India. The Group has extended its wings and operates in 35 countries with more than 120,000 employees worldwide. ABG has its trademark in various sectors viz. cement, viscose staple fiber, fertilizers, chemicals, metals, branded apparel, financial services, IT and BPO.
The Group made its mark in the education sector by one of the most prominent institutes named Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (shortened BITS Pilani). It is a private institute of higher education and a Deemed University. The institute is one among the 6 Indian 'Institutes of Eminence' recognized by the Government of India in 2018. It focuses primarily on higher education in engineering and sciences and on its management program. The institute secured the place in the prominent institutes' list of the +2 Students. When I was in +2, I had a dream of getting into BITS campus but didn’t even try for it because of my personal issues.
Especially the fashion brands by ABG feels me like it has everything in it. The Lifestyle store in Begumpet, Hyderabad has varieties of brands and that too with attractive discounts and offers. I personally visited the store many times and most of the time couldn’t come out of it without purchasing anything. Recently, I faced a funny issue while purchasing the Business suit for me. I had a very short time (say 4-5 days) to report at IIM Bodhgaya. I’ve been done with my shopping except for the Business suit because the issue was either the size was not available or too expensive. If I want to go with stitching they were asking about a week time which is not possible. Finally, I visited Van Heusen store and I got the suit in the virtual store of the company within my budget and best fit for me. Though they said the delivery would take 4 business days, which was neck to neck time still it arrived early and my task completed successfully.
How did I overcome challenges in my life to achieve my ambitions so far?
Life offers challenges in everyone’s life, though the challenges are different in respect to their own lives. The one who face it and overcome the challenge could make success and who escape from it, need to accept the failure.
I’m also no exception to it so faced the challenges in my life and reached so far to IIM Bodh Gaya. I was the school topper in SSC but I faced difficulty in my +2 since I studied in my regional language (Telugu medium) till SSC and shifted to English medium in +2. It was really a nightmare to cope up with the new terminology and maintain the grades. But with the never give up attitude, I worked hard and overcame the language barrier which resulted in securing an outstanding score. After my intermediate, I had to give a break to my studies for one year because of family concerns. As I was a merit student, it was really a tough time to take the decision of taking leave from the studies. I took the responsibilities on my shoulder to sort out the family problems and came back to studies for the next year.
I have successfully completed my graduation with a decent percentage. After my graduation, I dreamed to get into IIMs for my MBA course. I have started appearing CAT exam in 2013 onwards till this time I entered IIM Bodhgaya without missing a single year. I got interview calls in the very first attempt but waitlisted for few IIMs and couldn’t make any call into admission at the end. This trend repeated for 2-3 times and for a couple of times I didn’t clear the sectional cut-off, so no call at all. I identified my mistakes and tried to rectify but still, life throws new challenges every time. It took me to the ground but I thought this is an opportunity to rebound with double force. I have the attitude of never give up and keep trying, so finally, I’m here at IIM Bodhgaya with the dedication towards my ambition. Moreover, during this period, I’ve never been idle. I worked with few companies in different sectors to acquire the industrial knowledge which helps for my MBA career. I left my Govt. service which people consider it as the most secured job still, I want to fulfill my MBA dream.
So, if we have the courage to accept the challenges and overcome the best possible way, it can take you to success. Hard work pays off at some point of time, so we need to keep doing with dedication and determination towards achieving our ambition.
