Why Aditya Birla Group Is Big In Your Life ABG has been an integral part of an Indian day to day life unknowingly. I still remember it was the Idea’s advertisement campaign “Walk and Talk” that made me walk around while on a call, in the hope of losing weight. On hearing the voice in the advertisement talk about shifting from XXL to XL, the kid in me had its eyes shine. The advertisement campaigns have all been beautifully presented and socially awakening, be it on ‘tree plantation’ or on ‘education for all’. These advertisements not only publicise the product in a very positive light but also leave an imprint or an idea to think about for the viewer. I can recall very easily, that the first sim card used by my family was and is still Idea.  It isn’t that easy to have a name which people can rely on any day even in those formative years of telecommunication industry. For me, ABG has given a new wave of showcasing a social message through their product advertisements. And that had created a special place for ABG in my life which stays intact as it is even after so many years. As a kid most of us have had used, Freshwrapp. I don’t know a single person who hadn’t used Freshwrapp, mothers for packing lunches and fathers, for having lunches packed with this and us, kids for playing with the used foil. Aluminium foils have been used for packaging purposes since ages. I cannot recall even one instance when I didn’t see my lunch packed in freshwrapp. The used foils would get transformed into an aluminium ball and then we would play cricket by using our notebooks as bats and that ball during every recess. The memory is still in my mind and does not fail to bring a slight curve on my lips. Then comes the fashion brands, Pantaloons and People. Who does not know about them? During my teenage days I had my wardrobe full of clothes from the nearby outlets of these two brands. The best thing about them the combination of style and comfort they provide. I still have one of the tops that my mom gifted me on one of my birthdays from pantaloons. It has a special place in my wardrobe and will always stay close to my heart. In my undergraduate days my wardrobe included another brand of the same group, Forever 21. In the final year of my under graduation, my best friend had to appear for the interview of his dream company. He had no time to shop and decide what to wear, that was when he trusted me with it and I trusted Van Heusen, the most reliable brand for formals. The interview was a success and so was my selection. He thanked me with a big treat and still trusts me with my choices. Thanks to Van Heusen for the confidence the outfit imparted in him that day. When I got a call from MDI for interview eve I wanted to be crisp and perfect on ‘the day’. And again the former trust in ABG leads me to the nearest Allen Solly and Van Heusen outlets. I got the perfect clothes and the perfect fit. These clothes instilled an exceptional amount of confidence and self-belief in me, which helped do well in the group discussion as well as the interview.  Wearing that Van Heusen, waking around in the campus, fills me with immense joy and instils a wave of confidence in me. ABG has been a part of every stage in my life, be it my school, my college or MDI. It has been a constant support and a witness of all the memories I have had. My entire life can be easily woven around ABG. It has and it does make me feel confident about myself always. The contribution of ABG n my life is too huge to be explained in words. How Have You Made An Impact

It always seems impossible until it’s done

-Nelson Mandela

Hardships are a part of life. But let’s not forget, that ups in our lives will always be greater than the downs in our lives. Everyone has a story of struggle, hard work and success, so do I. I have been always inclined towards academics. I was a good student in my eleventh and twelfth as well. Rather I was availing a 50% scholarship in my school on merit basis. I was focussed on doing my engineering from an IIT or NIT. But being under pressure and not confident about myself, I couldn’t perform well in my AIEEE Mains exam. And hence I couldn’t make it to my dream colleges. This incident had a huge impact on my life, and that was when I decided that I will do my post-graduation and fulfil my dream of entering one of the best colleges across the country. Now the question was of choosing between masters in technology (M.Tech) or in business administration (MBA). This was big because I didn’t want to take any risk now and wanted to be clear about this as soon as possible. Slowly I started losing interest in the technical side but with managing multiple events in the college, I developed an interest in management. Coming from a background where everyone in the past two generations has been in the public sector, opting to work in the private sector and that too pursuing a course as tedious as MBA was big and new. My parents thought of it as a new fad and ignored it for the first three years of my graduation, but on the other hand I was preparing for the exam since my second semester of graduation. I ordered basic books for all the verticals of CAT, and my parents didn’t oppose because they thought that I wasn’t that serious about it. Then came my final year and I wanted to join a coaching institute which was at least a two hour ride from my college. Travelling two to three hours every weekend to and fro my college wasn’t going be that easy and my parents were even haunted by the past experiences of my AIEEE exam. They were worried that if I couldn’t do it this time then it would have been a lot tough on me, but I was focussed and determined to go for it. Here my mother supported me a lot. Every Saturday I would wake up at 0500 in the morning for a class at 0830 and then went back home around 1230, because that was much close to my institute than my college and the next morning again the same routine but with the destinations interchanged. I had my final year project, regular classes and exams at both, my college and institute, but nothing stopped me from making it where I wanted to. Even I had that fear of failing but my will to make it work this time was much greater than my fear. I scored 98.6 in CAT’19 and got a call from MDI. It has been one of my dream colleges because of its pedagogy and location. Being from Faridabad, Gurgaon is not new to me and is just an hour away from my parents. I dreamt of it and here I am. It was a journey I undertook and learnt a lot about myself and how I have the potential to make all dreams turn into reality. It’s just about hardwork and patience.
