Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
Aditya Birla Group, with its presence in over 35 countries, its influence in cement industry, fashion business, telecom services, financial services and many more is one of the largest and most influential companies in the world.
Everyone is connected to Aditya Birla Group in one way or the other. I am no different, from getting daily clothing from Planet Fashion and Allen Solly to feeling the happiness of staying in my own house, from getting my first phone number from Idea to getting my health insurance, Aditya Birla group has been a part of everything in my life.
During my engineering, I remember receiving a call from my sister on how even on this year, she and my family are going to dearly miss me during the festival of Raksha Bandhan. I remember feeling very heartbroken and upset on hearing from them. On that day, I decided to give them a surprise for a lifetime. Come Raksha Bandhan, I had saved some money, booked my flight tickets and had got varied range of clothing as gifts for my entire family from Aditya Birla Groups diverse clothing brands. I was very eager to reach home, and that one-hour drive from airport felt like an entire day, but after reaching home, everything was worth it. I remember my sister tearing apart the gift wrapping like a little a child and the smile and happiness that she got from seeing the gifts. It was totally worth it.
Aditya Birla Group has contributed to my life in huge way. Infact everyone has been a part of the Aditya Birla Group family somehow or the other. This family is a result a sheer dedication by Aditya Birla Group towards its customers and their policies.
How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
It was the year 2013, it had scored decently well in my board exams and was ecstatic. But that excitement did not last long as after two months, the schools had reopened, and I was again going through the rigorous processes of school life. Suddenly all the concepts which had been taught till now had changed. Come the exams, I scored 60%. This I could not digest. I, who once had scored 92% in my exams, was struggling to pass in subjects. I remember going crying to my parents that I cannot do science and that I didn’t have it in me. They started motivating me and told me stories of their failures and how they coped up with it. From that day, I started to work on my concepts one by one, worked hard throughout the year and that resulted in me scoring 94.2% in my board exams and I was third highest scorer among the science students of my school. I had never felt more successful in my life ever. From that day onwards, I believed that anything is possible through sheer determination and hardwork.
After my engineering, one of my life goals was to get into one of the top b-schools of the country. I had made up my mind to give the CAT exams during the final year of engineering so that I do not waste time and get into a b-school as soon as my engineering got over. It was one of the most difficult challenges I had faced, as my CAT exams clashed with my end-term exams. Keeping that in mind I had started preparing early, but still I found it extremely tiresome and difficult to manage my engineering studies and preparing for entrance exams. Gradually I settled in the process and worked on a habit of dividing time among various tasks. The result was that I scored 90.5% in my CAT exams, 97% in X-GMT, got admission into XIMB and scored a decent GPA in that semester as well. That experience taught me the importance of time management, a quality which will stay with me forever.
