Part A
The first time for anything always remains to be unique and special. It is a memory that is etched in our lives forever. And that is how the way I spent my first salary also remains very special and favourite to me. The stipend from my internship was my first earning, around 10,000. I had to carefully spend every penny of it, for the most special ones. After a lot of thought, I decided to get clothes for my brother as my first gift. Due to contrasting tastes, I took him with me. We went to our favourite brand outlet in Chennai. I got him a lot of formal and casual shirts, surprisingly which suited both our tastes really well. And the moment I handed him the PETER ENGLAND bag, with the choicest of clothing, was absolutely priceless. It was a moment of happiness and pride in multifold. The way my brother beamed with pride taking the bag was something that I can never cherish less. Since that day, till now, every time he wears those clothes, I get a picture. And the happiness we shared was not just because of my first gift, it was also because of how satisfied we were with our buy. Peter England had been our favourite brand, but post that buy, we share a personal connect with it. And that’s how Aditya Birla Group impacted big in my life and will always remain to be.
Part B
The challenge that I crossed to land here in SIBM Bengaluru. That is worth sharing I feel. Managing my work for 2.5 years with ever increasing responsibility and attending classes and studying for management exams was a huge challenge for me. This is something common as many do it. But with sudden drop in my health conditions, managing it all was a herculean task for me. I failed to accomplish my goal in the first year. And except a few, everyone else had lost hope on me clearing the exams. And that is when I had to pull myself up harder than ever as I had to prove my worth to the world which said I cant. The belief my parents and few others had on me gave me the strength to come back stronger. I gave up on the idea of quitting work. I worked, and parallelly joined coaching for the second year after paying the fees myself. I slogged as much as I could, and I finally made it here. The sense of satisfaction and achievement that I got on the day of results, is immeasurable. A lot many obstacles to face, and a lot more to achieve. But the first taste of success was totally worth it. I learnt a lot of lessons for life from it. And I will never fail to give my best in all my future endeavours.
