In a world full of competition, Aditya Birla Group holds a special place in everyone’s hearts. Name any industry, they own a major stake in it. Be it Fashion, Cement, Textiles, Metals, Financial services, Chemicals, insulators, Telecom or IT services, Aditya Birla Group has expanded beyond limits and continues to experiment with different ideas in order to win the hearts of the people, including mine.
Aditya Birla Group operates a multi brand fashion retail chain called Pantaloons. Going to Pantaloons with my family where each one of us can find something for us, is one of my favourite memories. Pantaloons has something for everyone. From kids to old people, it is the right place to shop at. Different varieties, low prices and a hospitable environment- my Sunday shopping at Pantaloons are the best outings without a doubt. I have a varied sartorial sense and like wearing everything- jumpsuits to shorts to formals. Pantaloons is my go to place when it comes to clothing.
Talking about a product which I came across recently, while I was imbibed with the responsibility of paying certain bills, typically a fresher entering a B-school. This is where BHIM ABP (Aditya Birla payments bank) caught hold of me, an app, offering great discounts as well as a platform for glib payment process. Detailed transaction history and security is essentially it’s top notch feature.
So far, all these products from different sections, not only are integral in every walk of life, but also create a brand image in our heads, making it difficult to not stay loyal to these products. I, for sure am hooked to them for life, and can never get done with what comes up next my way from here, for I know that, Aditya Birla Group has my back at all times.
So, as every MBA student does in their life atleast once, I too had my fair share of challenges and obstacles. Being a fresher straight out of college ,cracking and coping up with MBA with all the experienced guys around you is challenging. My string of challenges first began when I had to prepare for both my term end examinations at my undergraduate university and at the same time prepare for my MBA entrance exams. It was naturally very tough preparing for both without compromising either of them. But somehow, I had a goal set in my mind which made it easier for me to concentrate and focus on both of these side by side. With hardwork, and a tad bit of luck by my side I was able to excel in both. Completing my undergraduation in the first division and getting admission into one of the leading B schools in India was a distant dream turned into reality for me. In hindsight, all I did was persisted. There were times where I thought I could have given up easily but a phobia of failures helped me overcome that. This attitude continued with me trough the first year of my MBA.
Being a Fresher, coming from a non-engineering background, all my seniors and mentors used to say that due to the lack of corporate exposure I’ll have to settle for a field job in a company that might not be a big brand. And I knew all of that made sense, and I had to work extraordinarily hard to get a job in a corporate office or you could say in an office of my choice. With sheer hard work, and I’d say a tinge of good luck, not only did I get to work in one of the biggest brands in the consumer durables industry, Panasonic India, I ended up as a Trade Marketing Intern in their Regional Headquarters which overlooked the ISAMEA (India, South Asia, Middle East, Africa) region.
A little self belief always helps 😊
