Aditya Birla Group is an Indian multinational conglomerate, headquartered in my hometown Mumbai. The group has created its massive presence in more than 35 countries around the globe. In 1857, the foundation of the
Birla Group of Companies was laid by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla for cotton trading operations at Pilani, Rajasthan.
Since then the group has achieved number of milestones in its lifetime till date like incorporating
Grasim in 1947, incorporating
Hindalco in 1958, acquiring Indian Rayon Corporation Limited in 1966, Hindalco setting up a captive power plant at Renusagar, Uttar Pradesh in 1967, setting up of
Indo Thai Synthetics Company Limited, the Group's first overseas company in 1969,incorporated
Thai Rayon in 1975 the world's largest single-location palm oil refinery-
Pan Century Edible Oils incorporated in Malaysia In 1977. After which the group established many new domains like
Carbon Black, Indu Gulf, Birla Growth Fund (Now
Birla Global Finance Limited)
, Madhura Garments, Peter England, Birla Sun Life, Idea and more. The group also acquired various esteemed brands namely
Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly. They have businesses in many diverse sectors worldwide including Clothing, Financial services, Manufacturing, Telecommunications and Cement.
My connection with the Aditya Birla Group is far more deeper than I used to think it is. What I personally believe is that a consumer looks for a part of himself in the products he buys. And this could also be the reason why, knowingly or unknowingly, most of the brands that I buy, wear, gift, consume and recommend are associated with Aditya Birla Group. Their set of ideals and customs reflect in the products they offer in the market.
I would talk about the brands that I consciously buy, or else we all have some or the other time have lived or walked on something made of
Ultratech Cement. I would talk about the shoes that I wear of
Louis Philippe or the pants and shorts that I wear of
Van Heusen. I would talk about the places that I shop at like
Lifestyle and
Pantaloons. I would talk about my beloved mother’s food wrapped in
Freshwrapp or my girlfriend’s favourite shopping destination
Forever 21. I would also talk about my sister’s preferred leggings brand
Liva or my favourite actor’s casual wear brand
Skukt. Lastly I would also talk about the network that I prefer of
Vodafone-Idea.
Aditya Birla Group has made a mark in every of the nation and also the world. The conglomerate has made its unique impression on the world and has created much needed recognition of India as well. The diversity in its products, sectors, target audience and intense rigour in the business model has leverage the group to reach the heights of the business world and the depths of the individuals’ lives like myself. I really appreciate the kind of work the group of companies puts forwards and inspires the young generation to do the same.
