Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life? For anything to be big in any person’s life, it must touch one’s life even at the micro level. The statement seems as much a juxtaposition as it is true. ABG proves it by being a part of the life of any individual of this nation to the very roots. Let us start by the beginning of our day, we wake up, look at our phones and more than half of the individuals are already using Vodafone Idea Networks. The cover glass of our phones is made of aluminium which in India is mostly produced by Hindalco Aluminum. We make coffee in the coffee kettle and iron our clothes, and Grasim Insulators are already driving these appliances majorly. The formal wears which are the major parts of a management student’s life are mainly of Allen Solly, Peter England or Louis Phillip. We start preparing our food and More stores are already there solving our grocery problems. We sit in our cars/two-wheelers and reach our offices, not knowing that the tyres for the same have the Birla Carbon. We come back home, we plan a shopping list and Pantaloons and Planet Fashion is there for the save of our clothe shopping spree. We go for a long drive to South Bombay and take Bandra-Worli-Sea link. It’s one of the most commendable architectures made from millions of tons of Ultratech Cement. Almost every building we visit or live in is made of Ultratech Cement. We take a train back to our hometown, not knowing that the train riding has Birla Copper as its material constituent. I look at small kids jumping here and there on the way, how they are carefree and protected from deadly diseases like Polio, which Aditya Birla Group gave a wholehearted contribution for, more than any help Indian Health Ministry can ever get and made the eradication possible. This group is responsible for employing millions of people worldwide and giving Indian farmers and artisans a fair chance. I want to thank ABG for being a part of my life and every Indian’s life like that and making their presence big by meeting even the smallest of the needs of the people. How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far? Challenges have been a part of my life at every step. The day we step out of our school, we realize life just levels up and we are never getting less of obstacles. My first realization was the same when I completed my senior secondary education and had to decide a college for myself. I didn’t get an engineering college of my choice and had to make a tough choice of giving it another year of mine. It was mentally taxing to be in a condition where I was not doing anything but studying for my goal. I had to put in all my hard work to overcome this hurdle. I did my best and cracked a decent engineering college. The study of engineering was not a cakewalk. I made it to my final year successfully clearing all the subjects of Electronics Engineering and then came the placements. Placement period is agony, as this time my desire was to be in a renowned firm. In spite of appearing for various unsuccessful interviews, I didn’t leave my determination to overcome the obstacle and by February 2015 I was placed with CSC India. The job in Information Technology for an electronics engineer is totally a challenge. My work life started with the elation of working in a big corporate office, writing small pieces of codes but as soon as the reality struck into code big chunks, it became a nightmare. I approached my manager and we sat together to overcome this. Here I overcame my obstacle with honesty and my manager appreciated this. I slowly and steadily made progress and became an adept professional. Apart from the good appraisals from my manager, I started making resources work under me only in an experience of 2.5 years. Soon I identified my inclination towards a management career. The realization was easy but following the same required that much of courage. It was my fearlessness to change my career direction after an experience of 3.5 years that I am here in a management college. I had to prepare day in and day out along with my office work, with only a given number of leaves. It was months of perseverance and continuity that made me crack the entrance exam for NMIMS. Thus, I faced all my obstacles with hard work, perseverance, honesty, courage and determination.
