Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life
Scene: There’s a future me waiting in the reception hall for an interview with the leaders of the Aditya Birla Group. I scroll through their website to understand the history as well as try and understand the brands in detail. I browse through an article which says that Aditya Birla Group’s role in India’s economic history is tied with the country’s political quest for freedom. I read through the amazing history of ABG and try wondering how ABG is big in my life.
Remember, I am waiting for the interview and the brands seem to be shouting out at me of their significance. I look at myself and chance upon the
Van Heusen suit that I am wearing, the belt, shoes and wallet have been bought from
Pantaloons. A friend calls and asks to split the bill for the party that we had last night. I do it in a matter of seconds using the
Aditya Birla Payments Bank app. I look at the wall staring at me, surely
UltraTech Cement must have been used (after all it is The Engineer’s Choice). Now after all the thinking, I am hungry and think (again!) of eating what my dear mother has cooked for me. Presto! The food is fresh, considering I have traveled from Kolkata, was that not the place where ABG started functioning from?
I walk out of the building half hour later and punch in to call my parents to tell them how the interview went, the network being
Vodafone Idea. Woah! I realise ten seconds later, that isn’t Vodafone part of the ABG group. We often do not realize that our journey is surrounded by products. ABG has constantly striven to keep itself updated with the changes and has managed to keep touching peoples’ life either directly or indirectly. What started as a textile company is now a huge conglomerate with products and brands across all sectors of the economy. It is safe to say that ABG plays a huge role not only in my life but in each and every person.

How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far
Each day brings forth new challenges. I, Sarang Modi have always believed that in order to move forward, we need to face challenges head on.
I believe in constant learning and the day you think you have not learnt, is the Doomsday for you.
When I was in class 5, I was detected with glaucoma, a vision threatening condition. After multiple tests, it was declared that though I showed certain signs of it, was not prominent. That was the day I realized that how lucky I am to be blessed with vision and I set about trying to create a difference. It was difficult in the beginning because one does not know where to start. I have had multiple failures while trying, but again that taught me to keep striving. Meanwhile, I continued my education at Don Bosco School, Park Circus and participated in sports and showed prominence in the field of chess. Chess, I believe helped me develop my analytical skills and also think twice before making a move.
The perseverance to do something for the society paid off when I was able to start a Global Zero initiative in my college. Global Zero is an international organisation which believes in reducing nuclear armaments. I managed to convince students as well as leading authorities across Kolkata to sign the petition of reducing armaments.
With my ambition being to be a leader in the marketing domain, I have been reading voraciously and consuming information like no one else. I believe that determination and a noble intention make for a perfect combination and this is what has kept me going throughout. I reiterate that challenges is what helps us to achieve our ambitions for they teach as well as give us a sense of fulfillment for overcoming it.
