nd of August 2015, I was handling campaigning of our national level college event in western Maharashtra. It was a normal day but something happened on that day which changed my life forever. I met her in canteen counter purchasing some soft drink in a can thanks to Novelis aluminum. After a few days, I came to know that she will be working with me to spread the campaign in western Maharashtra. We were spreading our event through short messages and calls, thanks to the superb network of idea cellular. Actually, a big thank, because idea cellular didn’t stop there, instead it further helped us to stay in touch and understand each other through short messages and audio- video calls made possible by its high-quality server.
The basic building block of any relationship is respecting choice and decision of a person, the easiest way of doing so is by creating special moments. Be it my girlfriend or my family members, Pantaloons and Peter England have become one of the best ways of expressing my feelings for them.
Being an electrical engineer I always focused on generation, transmission, and distribution of energy. In order to transmit Gigawatts of energy safely over thousands of kilometers insulators play a very crucial role. Thanks to Aditya Birla Insulator for providing all kinds of high voltages insulators. May 2016 was the month in which I graduated as an electrical engineer with a dream job of HUL, Supply chain make in my hand. Now it was a time when people starts looking at you as a responsible person. In any typical Indian family, a boy becomes a responsible member of the family only after he starts contributing to his family in terms of ‘ROTI, KAPADA, and MAKAN’. In my case, it was the renovation of my house, where Ultratech cement played a very important role not only in renovating but also strengthening it.
After completion of HUL supply chain make executive training stints, I joined HUL’s Amli plant as a production executive in March 2017. During that time plant was under immense pressure to cut down business cost by in sourcing third parties volume. For that, we were supposed to De-bottleneck process and packing lines. Because I was already holding learning of overall equipment efficiency (OEE) improvement through changeover time reduction, packing line debottlenecking was assigned to me as a key project for that year. With my previous learning and usage of SMED (single minute exchange of die) tool available in WCM (world class manufacturing) I started working upon the changeover of one sachet cluster (a group of four sachet machines). After recording the steps and time required, removing non-value adding steps, rearranging (Combine, reduce, simplify) them, I reduced the changeover time from 240 min to 60 min (reduction by 75%). Also, this helped to improve manpower productivity by providing audio-visual indication indications and increasing tools for free activities. Wastage was also reduced by successfully by implementing a quality approved process of wash water collection and rework. After a successful demonstration of this on one cluster for around three weeks, this replicated horizontally throughout the plant. This helped in delivering an overall OEE improvement of 3.8-4.3 %. Learning was shared through global portals with other factories to benefit the whole category. Further, it was presented in personal care Kaizen competition where it won the championship. It was also examined and appreciated by Unilever South Asia ManEx (Manufacturing Excellence) director and external auditors of WCM.
