I remember the days of my school, as I walk down the streets of my home town – Mysore, I was very much attracted to see the poster being painted on the walls - a diamond and sunrise, and a building. I used to say to my dad that we would use "Ultratech-The Engineer's Choice" (cement) for our house construction without knowing anything about the brand or manufacturer. Today when I recall them, I realize why Aditya Birla Group is one of the great successful conglomerate companies of India in terms of maintaining the brand value from centuries. Started as a small company with a great vision and provided opportunities for building great careers, continuous learning along with a strong, meaningful life beyond work and connect with a larger social purpose is what needed for the today’s generation and society. The success of Aditya Birla Group is that the company adapts to the changes with the technology, customers requirement and an ever-ready attitude to learn and make innovations. The telecom company-Idea is still in operations even though there is a disruption from other competitors is because of its commitment and culture it has in the organization to overcome the challenges. My MBA life at IIM Rohtak filled with ups and downs which brings challenges every-day which I had never seen in my life. Sometimes I have felt that I don’t have the potential to take anything more. That is the time when great leaders of my country like Birla and Tata strike my mind and motivates me to come over these challenges. I remember the ideology of these leaders which made them to create a place for several lives by offering jobs through their company and joining their hands in improving the economic conditions of India. Today India is one of the top giants for the investors in the world and got its identity because of them. These thoughts make me dive into the sea of problems and get the pearl out of it. Without risk, nothing is easy to achieve. We have one life and we should be ready for experiments with the situation. The result has two outcomes which we all know. If we get success it’s a star adding into our book of achievement else it would be a learning and it’s an experience in the respective field which is much better than a person who is inexperienced. Leaving a life without trying to crack the challenge may lead to regret about it and especially when other person had the same challenge and could succeed. When an opportunity has come to us, we should accept and should give a try and, this is what Aditya Birla Group is doing and getting success around the globe by spreading its wings to 42 nationalities, spread across 35 countries and propelled by over 120,000 employees - “A World of Opportunities.” Managers and an organization achieve its target and milestone when it has proper management of self and trusting its people who are part of its own entity. Trust builds by creating a right and safe place for its employees and workers. The commitment to the organizations will lead to the sustainable growth of the company. This safe environment and commitment is well institutionalized at all levels of the Aditya Birla Group through systematic processes and more importantly, through personal attention and involvement of the senior managers and top leaders. The company shares its success with their employees and with the society by contributing to various social activities like health care, women empowerment, skill training, child education, agricultural support to bring smiles on thousands of people. Its morals and principles are a great inspiration to me and it is teaching the people of the nation to share happiness with others and add meaning to human lives.
