Being a sports player who has played badminton till national level with ambitions to drive a brand’s success on the marketing front my biggest challenge till date has been to manage my professional career on an academic front along with my passion to play at a certain level and maintain that. To overcome this challenge I had to learn and master the art of time management be it playing badminton for Delhi during my 12th boards, be it playing inter university and state competitions throughout my graduation college and now with MBA trying to just maintain my skills in badminton while excelling in the marketing domain which is my major specialisation. Through time management, you learn the value of having 24 hours in a day and utilizing each minute to do something productive be it professionally or passionately. Along side this challenge another major challenge for me has been adapting to the life of a business school like IMI New Delhi where I’m pursuing my MBA from. To start off I’m from a commerce background with a basic IT skill set so to develop my data analytical skills was a major challenge for which the only way out was investing time and learning each and everything by grinding it out. I learn from this challenge that there is no shortcut to success no matter how smart you might be when there’s something you need to develop in order to grow you need to invest time and energy and hustle. In both the challenges I have learnt that where there’s a will there’s a way and the only question is whether we are willing to travel that way and cross those obstacles or do we give in and run away from it? I overcame my challenges, how about you?
