Leaders are less interested in their position and more interested in their positive impact on others. And Aditya Birla Group one of the biggest conglomerates follows the same philosophy. Aditya Birla has redefined the way Indians wear and dress formally through their various brands such Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Peter England, Van Huesen and at affordable prices. Some of the brands are used by people every day even without them realizing it. As the proverb goes “dress to impress”, wearing good clothes not only makes a person look smart but also increases their confidence. As the majority of the population in India belong to the middle class these brands provide the perfect avenue for people to shop as well and not spend a lot.
Another product which the whole nation has knowingly or unknowingly purchased is UltraTech cement. Although, every person might wonder about the impact a thing like cement can have in one’s life. But people seem to miss the point that the very house where they live, eat, make memories is made of brick and mortar. Every person holds their own house very close to their hearts and wants to see it standing till the day they are alive. As the tagline of the company suggests, it’s the “Engineer’s Choice” it provides better quality cement which lasts long and ensures that every person’s dream of owning and building a house can be achieved. Ultratech cement is not just cement.
The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment.
And talking about creating an impact on one’s life, I believe every person creates an impact on his or her life every day. Every day is a new day and it comes with its own set of new challenges. Whether for a kid it is learning alphabets or numbers or for professionals looking to advance in their careers, no situation is the same. It’s the way a person decides to handle the situation is what can either make a good impact in their life or may lead to a failure from which they can learn in the future.
For me personally I have faced a lot of difficult situations which have not been favorable for me and have also made a few decisions which have not led to the outcome I desired. But instead of sitting and regretting about those incidents I chose to look at them as an opportunity to assess and learn so I don’t make the same mistake again.
My decision to leave my job after working for 4.5 years and prepare to pursue further education was not easy. The first few days after I returned home and sat down to study, my concentration was as weak as a toddler. After a month, I still wasn’t able to sit and study for more than an hour and I started to wonder whether I made the right decision to leave my job and prepare for MBA entrance exams. But I knew I could not go back and had to work towards the decision I had made. Quoting Rocky from the movie creed “one step at a time, one punch at a time, one round at a time”, is started to take one day, one chapter at a time and gradually started to grasp more and more. As a result, here I am today studying at one of the most prestigious B-schools in India and have the opportunity to write this article which can possibly have an impact on my own career.
