Part A : Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?
“Aditya Birla Group” is a name that needs no introduction especially among Indians. I personally can relate to ABG through the plethora of brands and their products they have to offer. Their products seem to be omnipresent in one’s day-to-day lives. It has touched me in many facets of my life, right from the Freshwrapp foil that was used by my mother to pack my lunch all through childhood, to Ultratech cement which is the only choice that comes to our mind for any kind of construction work. Being the largest manufacturer of cement in India and one of the world’s top-ranked cement manufacturers, Ultratech cement has synonymously placed itself as the most trusted option in the market. One interesting observation that struck my mind while starting to pen down my experience with ABG was that, during my stint with Ericsson, Idea used to be MY client. Yes! You read it right! I was totally glad to be at the other side of the table and proud to be associated with such a brand. The clothing and apparel lines that ABG offers are incredible, from Allen Solly, Forever 21, Linen Club, Planet Fashion, Peter England to Pantaloons and Liva, you’re just spoilt for choice.
My personal favourite among all the offerings of ABG would be Pantaloons. I have shopped for more than 90% of my dresses from Pantaloons. The quality and competitive price offered is unmatchabale. The happiness when I bought my father a Peter England shirt with my very first salary is unbeatable. Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd (ABFRL) hosts India's largest fashion network with over 11,000 points of sale, which include close to 2,500 exclusive ABFRL brand outlets across 750+ cities and towns, 4,900+ multi-brand outlets and 400.
Part B: “How I overcame challenges in life to achieve my ambitions in life so far”
“When the tough gets going, the going gets tough”
This is one of the quotes I came across during my Class 6 and since then I’ve believed in this. Although I would’nt have captured the essence of it at that young age, these words have travelled with me since then. Being a table tennis player, I have faced challenges all my life and overcame them with struggle. In due course of time, I learnt to juggle between success and failure alike. I took my own time, but believed in myself and just held on. Nobody sets out with a plan to fail, but so often people let obstacles get in the way of their success. We all have 24 hours in a day, and lack of time is actually a lack of priorities. I’ve found that listing my priorities and goals for each day, and tackling the toughest ones first, is optimal for me. That way, the rest of the day seems easier. Another major aspect which I consider is mostly important is attitude. I avoid negativity, first from within myself and then other people. Dealing everything with a positive outlook has helped me differentiate and this does not mean that one is ignorant towards problems. If things are hard, work harder. If you fail, learn from your mistakes. I’ve often thought that 97 percent of the people who quit too soon are employed by the three percent who never gave up. If you focus on problems, you will have more problems. If you focus on solutions, you will have more opportunities.
