PART A
As humans, it is very natural for us to have a desire or need for something and go and buy that stuff.
Sometimes we are delighted other times we are just satiated; also are the times when we are
disappointed. In today’s era of market dynamics where consumer preferences are likely to change every
minute, it becomes very difficult for providers of goods and services to accommodate the changes
instantly and deliver us the ultimate. At times, some fail to adapt whereas few are already leading their
way; same is the case with ABG.
Started in 1857, ABG has now become the third largest business house in India and has prospered in
CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and SCM (Supply Chain Management) and Employee
Welfare. under the leadership of Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla and entered into several markets
positioning itself as a top player in the cement, textile, telecommunications industries as well as
insurance and financial services. Major companies of ABG in India are Grasim, Hindalco, UltraTech
Cement, Aditya Birla Nuvo, and Idea cellular. Aditya Birla’s joint ventures include Birla Sun Life (financial
services) and Birla NGK (insulators). The group has also a presence in various countries like Thailand,
Cambodia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Egypt, Canada, China, and Australia.
Like almost every other Indian, I also use goods and services and am delighted every time. Be it those
trendy tops and tunics from Pantaloons or watching non buffering YouTube videos on high-speed
internet on Idea cellular, I’ve always been a delighted customer of ABG. I thank ABG and their
employees for their unconditional value delivery process that excels in Operations, Finance, Marketing,
HRM and many other divisions in which they work relentlessly.
Working with such an organization would not be less than a dream come true for any MBA aspirant. I
am looking forward to being a part of this wonderful Organization one day.
PART B
A Year That Changed Me:
Experience working with an NGO:
Hardly had I finished my breakfast on the morning of 23
rd March 2018 when my best friend called and
informed me about an NGO and asked if I was willing to work there or not. To no surprise, I immediately
confirmed it since I was looking for an opportunity to work with such organizations that could add it to
my CV.
Since that day I’ve always cherished my decision to join this local NGO Aadhar foundation in Aurangabad
that reaches out to distribute free school stationaries and conduct environment related sessions and
this time with an overwhelming sense of belongingness and gratitude. From a shy and diffident person
who was focused on good grades, I became a sensitive, involved and aware individual. Not only I
became someone who loves to share the joy of giving but also someone who believes in the philosophy
that every person on this earth has a whole new different world to offer if we invest our time and
resources in it.
Going back to NGO days, we were a team of 6 people and all of us were college students. We used to
conduct games after school hours for the kids, talk with them about their family and about their
ambitions, conducted quizzes and treasure hunts. I loved to interact with every single child whenever we
visited the schools. It always used to be an interactive session full of fun and knowledge. I still remember
Kshitij from class 6
th who taught me a life mantra one fine day that I’ll never forget in my life. He said,
“didi, hum kam me bhi khush hai kyuki hum khushiyon ka intezaar nahi karte, hum khush rehte hai,
kushiyaan apne aap aajati hai.” That was the moment I felt so small in front of this kid that I decided
that it’s going to be me or no one who will keep myself happy and grateful.
I feel lucky to be a part of Aadhar that turned an entirely new leaf in my life. #iimraipur #ABGLPWooMe
