Part-A: ABG and India!
Remember those times when every Indian parent used to say, “My child will go on to become a Birla someday”. This is the impact that the Aditya Birla Group has had on the life of Indians for as long as any of us can remember. In an era where companies want to have big businesses to their names and huge cash flows into their accounts, here is a giant that has shown us that intent in a business is more important than the money that comes along the way. Money is just a by-product that will fall into place if we have got our minds in the right place. This is what makes the Aditya Birla Group different from the others and makes them stand out in the crowd. They are truly what we call “industrialists” in this generation of merely “money-minded businessmen”.
From Grasim industries to Ultratech cement, there is not a single aspect of an Indian’s life that is not touched by the Aditya Birla Group. Pantaloons Fashion and Retain in the field of fashion and clothing, Vodafone idea Limited in the field of telecommunications, Hindalco Industries in the field of aluminum production, Ultratech in the field of cement, Grasim Industries in the field of textiles, Minacs in the field of business and technology outsourcing, Aditya Birla Chemicals India in the field of chemicals and Birla Sun Life insurance in the field of life insurance policy and plans are just some, so as to name, the big subsidiaries and ventures of the Aditya Birla Group.
Aditya Birla Group is and will continue to inspire and affect our lives in innumerable ways. As they very rightly say, you cannot live a life without witnessing the massive presence that the Aditya Birla Group has on it.
Part-B: Defeating Fears
Right from my birth, I had these shoulders of mine bent from the corners because of which insensitive people used to make fun of me because of which my self-confidence took a big and drastic hit. There were times I hesitated going on stage because I thought I would be judged and mocked at because of my physique. I remember, once I had to speak in front of an audience and I was getting really nervous and was panicking. The constant thought of being made fun of was really taking a toll on me and I was feeling nervous like anything. Then a thought occurred to me and that was, the only reason people were successful in mocking me was that I was feeling low of myself in the first place. There are millions of people in this world who aren’t perfect and yet, they survive. If they can live with it perfectly fine accepting how God made them, why can’t I? Even if they make fun of me, it won’t change anything. Words hurt us as long as we allow them to hurt us. It was just this realization that happened that made all my insecurities go away. I climbed the stage and from that very moment, I never looked back. After that incident, every chance I got, I utilized it to its full potential without giving a second’s thought about what anyone else might say about me. Today, I'm one of the best known public speakers in my circles and it all happened because I triumphed over a weakness by accepting it and hence rendered it dead and lifeless.
