part-A:
The roots of the ABG runs down to Britain occupied India. Ever since then, ABG expanded on a large scale and set its footprint away from India. As in the case of any other Indian, ABG has played a significant role in my life. Ever since I have started defining my own style, I was an active follower of Allen Solly Brand. I certainly feel that the Brand “Allen Solly” shall continue to deliver its products that shall keep the youth and other ages Amazed.
In addition, Brands such as Louis Philippe, Van Huesen and Peter England have always stayed in my top picks. It is the diversity of products these Brands offer that has pulled several individuals like me to shop with them and the quality that made us stick to their products. Another important factor would be the category these Brands have specialized in. I would walk into a Louis Philippe store when I am looking for Formal wear or run into a Peter England store to put on some casuals. On contrary, I have seen people that shopped formals from Peter England and casuals from Louis Philippe. This way, these Brands have successfully established wide customer base.
Apart from the fashion division, ABG impacted me through the lens of Idea network. Telecom situation few years back was entirely different as compared to present day. Amongst high tariffs and huge data prices, Idea has its own pricing structure. Free messaging offers of idea stood out across any existing network five year back. Being always active in texting with peers, I found the offers really helpful and economic. After JIO happened, several networks lost their market where Idea collaborated with Vodafone to become the highest subscribed network in India. Reason behind this could be the unlimited calls and high data being delivered to customers at a very reasonable price. These offers made me stick to idea network.
Another Important aspect is the “More” retail stores. From traveling places for retail products to buying them from “More”, a lot of time and energy has been saved. Also, the quality of products sold at the store is on a whole different scale compared to other retail stores. The cement and financial divisions under ABG have impacted me and the whole society in various abstract ways.
Part:B:
Ever since my childhood, I had never stayed away from my family until I was 22. I always considered this as my fortune and never predicted the impact this might have on my life when I move out into the outside world. My Father got transferred to a different city and my Mother accompanied him. Since I was working in Hyderabad at that point, I couldn’t accompany my parents. My parents, worried about me wanted me to stay at my uncle’s place. But, I denied. I knew that I have to step outside my comfort and learn to live independently.
The first few months were very difficult. I had lot of friends around me since I have stayed in Hyderabad all through my life, but things were never easy. There were days when I was completely broke and sad. I wanted to run away to my uncle’s place but I did not. I stuck to what I had in my mind, to be brave and independent. As time passed, I felt very comfortable with the world around. I made more friends, people I can really trust and move along with.
Now, when I look back, I don’t really worry about the bad times but I certainly remember and cherish my courage to move forward no matter what. Though I have faced hard times, I never let them impact my work or relationships. To observe, implement, fall down, lift ourselves up and observe carefully again has been a successful mantra of me. Now, I am pursuing my MBA from Goa and people across me are very diverse and I am not very fluent in Hindi when I got started, but there never has been a single day when I was broke or scared. I applied my mantra here, to keep going.
