It’s CSR vision is to actively participate in improving the social and economic situations of the communities where they operate and hence build a better, sustainable way of life for the marginal sections of society and raise the country's HD index. Some of its primary focus areas are Education, Health care, Sustainable livelihood, Infrastructure development, and contributing to social causes
Education is one of the Company's primary initiatives. It includes children of all ages and also improves school infrastructure and provide educational facilities to students. The projects focus on access to education and to ensure that underprivileged children in rural India get the necessary aid to continue their schooling
Another key point added to the project during the implementation is the empowerment of women in Dungarpur, Rajasthan. Self Help Groups have been formed to assemble, repair, maintain, and sell the lamps. This has led to the overall empowerment of rural women.
Healthcare is also another important human development indicator - health and sanitation.
Hygiene: In Jammu & Kashmir, sanitation is one of the urgent issues because of the scarcity of resources, lack of sensitization, and situations prevailing in the State, etc. To address the issue, Idea Cellular has partnered with the Rural Development Department, Government of Jammu & Kashmir to initiate the construction of 2010 individual household toilets in 10 Gram Panchayats.
Water Supply is one of the significant concerns in some part of the country: Marathwada region is known for its periodic, and severe droughts in 2016. And it was essential to take measures to address the immediate needs of the people. The Company, as per ABG philosophy, provided drinking water in four districts, namely, Latur, Aurangabad, Jalna, and Beed, which were most affected under an acute shortage of water.
ABG has undoubtedly made a big difference through these initiatives, which have led to the overall improvement in livelihoods for youth and women empowerment. Women are engaged in different roles, such as managers, assemblers, distributors, and service providers for repair and maintenance. The healthcare initiatives cater to the need of all age groups of people i.e., 0-05 year under Polio Non-recurrence campaign Program, 01-10 year under Cochlear implant, 14-20 year under intervention programs for reduction of future risks of cardio vascular diseases, all age group under village social entrepreneurs in healthcare, mental health and under restoring vision / eye sight initiative.
