Aditya Birla group’s branches include some major players in the field of textile, telecom, insurance, wealth management, cement, etc. It has played its part in my life too. I have been a long-term subscriber of Idea cellular service and a regular customer of Pantaloons and Peter England. These brands under the Aditya Birla Group have made my life much better and convenient. Apart from these, Ultratech cement is part of my father’s ambitious home. In one way or the other, ABG makes its presence felt in ways which empower the lives of many.
Aditya Birla Group also engages extensively in the corporate social responsibility initiatives across the length and breadth of our country. It runs multiple institutes in the field of education and health like the Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Pune, Aditya Birla World Academy in Mumbai and also supports 500 achievers every year for their higher education. They also provide a lot of support to the underprivileged and underdeveloped areas of the country by setting up multiple medical camps, providing mid-day meals to govt. schools and run multiple skill training camps for the unemployed youth. How I have overcome challenges to achieve my goals?
I strongly believe that true character is reflected only during tough and difficult situations. I have experienced a similar situation during my professional life at TCS. I was working as a designer at TCS. During June 2018, the project was facing a crisis due to lack of proper planning and execution of the solutions assigned to TCS. There was no clarity among team members and there was a tremendous amount of pressure to deliver solutions as early as possible. My manager vested his trust in me and gave me an opportunity to lead a team and re-visit the delivery plans and provide a realistic delivery schedule to the client. Simultaneously, I was at the beginning of my preparation for my MBA entrance exams during this crisis. However, I did take up the responsibility which demanded me to stretch myself to meet the expectations from the client. I struggled to maintain a balance between work and my ambition. There were many situations where I felt discouraged and even considered sacrificing one front to excel on the other. But I believed that the only way to glory is persistence. I persisted with my responsibilities and continued to work hard to the best of my abilities. Eventually, we were able to deliver the promised deliveries within the deadlines without compromising on the quality. My team and I were highly appreciated for this valiant effort by the management. This brief period in my life completely changed my perspective towards life and boosted my confidence to a great extent.
