Why The Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
The Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon is truly exemplified when it comes to how big the Aditya Birla Group is in my life. The Baader-Meinhof effect, by definition, is the illusion in which a word, a name, or thing that has recently come to one’s attention suddenly seems to appear with improbable frequency shortly afterward. But then again one will quickly realize this is not by some serendipitous happenstance or an illusion but is in fact due to the ever-growing presence of Aditya Birla Group and their valuable offerings in everyday life. How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far
On critical reflection, one will see that life is a series of highs and lows. This is exemplified to the T in my life journey as well. I believe that my personal, educational and professional challenges have made me a resilient and determined individual. Through my childhood I moved through 8 cities, spanning across 4 countries, from Taiwan to Canada and Chandigarh to Chennai with many stops in between! As an introvert, these moves were often difficult but contributed to making me a quick adapting individual. In school too I faced challenges in part from the same reason. There are different expectations from a student across learning cultures and I am an academically inclined person, these two factors coupled together were a driving force which made me a quick learner, and hey! I picked up French, Mandarin and a bit of Marathi apart from my native language on the way! I completed my engineering in Computer Science from SRM University in Chennai and bagged my dream job role as a Consultant at Hitachi Consulting. As I began work I was tasked as the lead in my first client facing project itself! The role allowed for both complete ownership and accountability and the stakes were ever higher for me. This was a terrific opportunity for me and I hit the ground running, often being faced with overwhelming hurdles. With a highly clichéd but truly never give up attitude, as I was delivering the last leg of the project I found myself gleaming on the other side of the tunnel and reflecting on the tremendous learning from the experience. I am now pursuing my MBA at NMIMS in Mumbai and truly believe that each of the obstacles I have faced has led me here and allowed me to secure a position at the prestigious institute. As B.J Nebblet has rightly said “We are the sum total of our experiences. Those experiences be they positive or negative make us the person we are, at any given point in our lives. And, like a flowing river, those same experiences, and those yet to come, continue to influence and reshape the person we are, and the person we become. None of us are the same as we were yesterday, nor will be tomorrow.” I now look forward to my next experience and feel ever ready to take on the next challenge. #NMIMSMumbai #ABGLPWooMe
