While I was traveling from Bandra-Worli Sea Link (powered by Ultra-Tech Cement) I was drawn to my childhood memory wherein my father built our dream home using the foundation material that resonated with the values that he wanted us to imbibe- Integrity, Commitment, and Passion. Without hesitation, he had chosen India's number 1 brand of cement, Ultra Tech. Throughout my growing years, the most important part for me was to have a healthy and warm diet, as my mother often said. She took care of this by having my food wrapped in Freshwrapp, ensuring that I was happily consuming warm. All throughout my journey I managed to meet the aspirations of my parents, especially when I got an offer letter from SDA Bocconi Asia Center. Out of gratitude, I brought a Kurti from Pantaloons for my mother and a shirt from Peter England for my father. For this transition to a professional life, I brought business attires from Van Heusen and Allen Solly, and accessories from Forever 21 which were not just brands but a medium to create an impact. It would not be wrong to thank ABG for ensuring that I was able to adapt to this change from Delhi to Mumbai. I would like to add that my family and I are still able to keep in touch fabulously through the Vodafone network.             When I entered into college for my graduation, I was firm that I needed to create an impact in the life of the needy. I started volunteering for social projects, but there came a time when I decided to work for a section of society which needs attention. After one year of research, I found that visually impaired people are among the most neglected. I then started a project “VASAN” which aimed to empower the visually impaired by teaching them stitching. The very first challenge which I faced was to convince my team to work with these affected ones and simultaneously to persuade the target audience (visually impaired) to work with us. It was a constant effort to make the team and beneficiaries realize the positive change which the project will create in their life. When both parties agreed to work along with me towards my end goal, the next task was to create a platform for the same. I managed to get assistance from other NGOs and soon began raising funds. Finally, we were able to train 5 visually impaired people and 20 women to stitch recycled clothes into new products. We also got more than 100 people to volunteer for our project. Lastly, we presented our project at ‘Enactus’, a national level competition where we secured the second position among twenty teams. Establishing this project gave me the courage to overcome the major challenges in life. I feel that this resonates strongly with the key values exemplified by ABG group.
