Part A: Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
Aditya Birla Group (ABG) is having its presence in multiple domains like Cement, Fashion, Banking and many more. ABG is connected to almost everyone’s life (in India) in one way or the other. Here, I will be discussing particularly cement and fashion domains:
Cement
First of all, UltraTech Cement Limited is the largest manufacturer of cement in India and is a founding member of the Global Cement & Concrete Association and hence it has to maintain its quality and standards. When my house was constructed back in 2017, the contractor had used UltraTech cement (OPC). The setting time was very less and along with quality, they provide cement at a reasonable rate and also site supervision by an expert engineer at no extra cost.
Fashion
When it comes to fashion, I was amazed to realize that any big brand that comes to my mind is controlled by ABG in India like Allen Solly, Peter England, Louis Philippe, etc. Last year, I visited a Louis Philippe showroom in Delhi to look for a suit for my brother’s wedding and there was this suit that caught my attention and felt like I always wanted to have this one but unfortunately, they didn’t have it for my size. They arranged it from a showroom somewhere in Meerut (UP), and deliver it to me just two days before the wedding. Louis Philippe (ABG) earned my loyalty with its services.
Aditya Birla Group is one of the oldest conglomerates; it is working in a direction to include more brands under its banner, to achieve customer satisfaction and to provide quality & technological excellence which leaves the long-lasting impression on the customer.
Part B: How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far
Public Speaking: A Challenge to Most
I was born in Sultanpur and attained primary education in a regional school and up to tenth from Rajasthan where soft skills and spoken English was not so popular.
I still remember, very first time, the moment I was asked to give extempore in the eleventh class, I started shivering. I was scared that what if I didn’t speak good, what people will think of me. I managed to collect some points but when I was about to start, I went blank. That was a complete disaster, I didn’t sleep that night. Then I decided to work on my skills and to prepare myself for future opportunities.
So, after that, I did many things to improve my skills like started reading newspapers, self-talk in front of the mirror, watching English movies with subtitles, calling customer care just to talk and so on. In the final year of engineering, I was shortlisted and screened-in for SSB Navy but unfortunately conference out on the 5th day. Later on, I cleared CAT in my first attempt and cracked WAT/PI processes of many different B-schools and presently, I am pursuing MBA from IIM Kashipur.
