Why Aditya Birla Group is significant in my life
Aditya Birla Group is one of the few groups that was founded before independence. That being said, it is certain that the long history of the conglomerate must have provided a plethora of products and services to various organizations and society at large.
The first thing that strikes me when I hear about this group is the apparel segment which not only has a variety of brands housed under a quite well-known retail store “Pantaloons” but also provides products at an appreciable rate keeping an average Indian consumer in mind. Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England, Levi, Lee Cooper are some of the brands that have created a mark in my life as it has always lived up to my requirements. On top of that, I have always benefited from the green card membership that does justice to a regular customer like me. I have been absolutely satisfied with the kind of relationship Pantaloons has established with me so far.
The second comes the Vodafone service network (the then Idea Cellular), which I have been using since I bought my first cell phone. Needless to say, it is one of the trusted mobile service providers as it still holds the largest market share in India. Its advertisement, especially the “Hunny Bunny,” is deeply etched in my mind.
Speaking of other sectors, of course, the vehicle we drive, the house we live in possibly have some contributions from the ABG, which is why it is ingrained in Indian society. With innovations and plans Aditya Birla Group I’m sure it has even bigger to offer us in the future.
Challenges I have overcome to achieve my ambitions so far
I would state the journey of my selection to my MBA College. Besides XIMB, there were a few colleges I was shortlisted for. Being a complete news junkie, I took the need to prepare for the interviews lightly. As I was in constant touch with the global news and its implication on the economy, I presumed I would be able to convert all the colleges I was shortlisted for.
The first interview began smooth, and I created a good impression but then followed a moment of struggle and fumble when I was asked how an MBA would help me with the interest I had. That interview eventually led to a stressful one, where I realized the result of complacency. I kept contemplating on my way back home that the first impression is not necessarily the last.
The beautiful thing about failing is that it gives you a chance to introspect and work on the weak realms. So I started jotting down points about how my interest in the business world begun. While all this, I noticed that I had completely overlooked the extra-curricular segment of my work experience, where I had showcased my soft skills. This helped me to connect the dots and frame my purpose ‘clearly.’ Moreover, the critical thing I learned was no matter how any interview goes, staying relaxed is the essential need.
In the second interview, which was XIMB’s, I could successfully wrap it up with a positive note. The feeling when you present your best version is elating. What I understood is to attain one’s ambition; one must treat the challenges and failures as close friends. #ABGLP #ABG WOO ME -SEASON2, #ABGLP WOO ME COMPETITION, #XIMB
