After starting my corporate career, the first advice that my father gave me was to start investing. Part B: How you overcame challenges to achieve your ambitions in life so far?
While I was working for an automation company, my team was working on the Configuration of the Distributed Control System which was supposed to be delivered within three weeks. At that time because of some exigency, our Team Lead had to go onsite for a different project. As I was the only team member who was in the project right from scratch, I had a holistic view of all the deliverables. At that time, I had the opportunity to lead the project. So, I
took the initiative to lead the team. Our team successfully completed the project in the allotted time with expected quality. During those three weeks, I
learned Customer Handling, how to represent an organization, people management, task scheduling, assigning tasks to the team members according to their competency. After successful completion of the project, my work was recognized by giving the Bravo Award.
When I was working in the company, I decided to prepare for the CAT exam. But the major problem was
time management. My company was 30 km away from my home. Adding to this, traffic in the evening was the major issue. I used to spend almost 3 hours every day in traveling. So, I decided to join the Bus Service provided by the company, so that I can utilize commute time for studying. I tried this for 2 months but still, I was not satisfied with my preparations. So, I made the decision to stay near the company so that I will
save time as well as energy. After this decision, many of my friends were surprised by seeing my
dedication. I chose to live alone so that I would not get disturbed by roommates and can
focus on my target. Finally, after 4 months of hard work, I successfully secured the admission into IIM Kashipur. I really believe in following lines: -
