We are all faced with several challenges, which have an immense effect on our lives. They shape us into the person we are, our beliefs and values. I remember a challenge that I faced during my college days, while we were preparing to perform an act using ultraviolet lights. The specialty of the act was that the entire performance had to conducted in the theatre with no lights. We had to use special fluorescent colors that glow under UV light. So with high hopes, we started preparing for the event, the first challenge that we faced was to gather up people to make them understand the concept and come up with a theme that we can perform using just fluorescent colors and costumes. After much deliberation, we came up with a theme based on a magic show and started practicing. The biggest challenge we faced was that to practice properly we need to plan the sessions in the night the problem was some of the participants we are not willing to stay back so gradually they started to leave. We somehow managed to keep up the practice, the sleepless nights didn’t help. The day of the main event came, by the time we practiced as much as we can with the reshuffled team. The event was about to get started we asked the organizers to switch off all the light, now there is twist we did not realize that to collect and organize our props even during the event we’ll need some light, even though we practiced in the dark we never practiced in the room that was pitch black. When the event began we were confused about the location of our props and the positioning of the participants. The event was about to begin, but due to our practice and planning, we somehow managed the first few minutes until our eyes could adjust. The entire performance turned out to be great, all the efforts that we put in had paid off.
The challenges that we faced were related to team building, trusting our peers and time management but in our ambition of succeeding we tackled overcame and managed those challenges and that helped shape our values and beliefs.
